Note: This is just for a little bit of fun and to get some discussion going. So; you are the Manager of LFC - you are given ã30m to spend in the summer, but you must free people from the wage bill, you can reinvest any money you get from these sales. Try and keep the sale prices realistic. Don't forget there must still be multiple options in each position in case of injuries. You can bring up any of the Academy/Reserves to the squad. Current Squad: Personally I'd do this:
Johnson ã8.5 million. Are you nuts. I agree with most of the others,However Joe Cole won't go for any less than ã5 million as Liverpool will definitely want to recover his wages.
Maybe 8.5m is a little optimistic; but a Full back who can switch sides and is competent at both of them is rare, not to mention he is still currently England's right back and we know how inflated prices are for English players. Could possibly be used in a swap. However, Joe Cole doesn't warrant 5m and I think we'll want to shift him on simply because we don't want to pay the rest of his wages - which would cost us a hell of a lot more.
Use in him in a deal for Ashley Young.Ashley Young is heading for the last year of his contract and isn't worth more than ã10-ã12 million.I reckon Ashley Young and ã3 million would be a decent swap for Glen Johnson.
I've not been a fan of Johnson but now that i've seen that he can play left and right i'd say keep him. I'd also keep Cole I think he may turn out to be a good sub for us but not sure!
Well done, in 1 sentence you have made it quite clear what the extent of your football knowledge is. You should know by now that football forums are for those who know something about football, not for the plastic fans.
