    The Tyneside Irish Centre will no doubt be packed today and the black stuff will be flowing freely. Might try to have a look in if I can get into town before 5:00.

    Currently sat in my apartment in the middle of the republican side of Belfast wearing my green newcastle goalkeeper shirt, playing the FIFA drinking game, 8 bottles of corona into a day of liver-ripping hedonism!

    St Patrick might be welsh, but I'm drunk and I couldn't give a ****!

    Used to have great, epic, St Patricks nights in our local 'til a few years ago. The land-lady was Irish, and it was her birthday on the 18th. So up til midnight was Paddys night, which was the warm up session for her brithday from 12:01 onwards..Then the old tennants left and a new landlord took over. A Sunderland supporting monkey-hanger. Quite ironic that he couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery seeing as how he's a publican, and there hasn't been a decent 17th March in the vicinity since.

    Used to make a lot more of St. Paddys day in London than they do here. Of course there was a lot more Irish governers of pubs than there are here.

    Having said that, one of them had lived quite close to where I lived when I was a kid. A great guy who used to be known as 'The Mad Monk', anybody ever heard of him?

    Last I heard of him he was governer of the 'Oxford and Cambridge' just on the bank of the Thames.
