    BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

Venue: Etihad Stadium Date: Saturday, 25 February

    TEAM NEWS

Manchester City's Yaya and Kolo Toure could make their first Premier League appearances since early January, having since been on international duty.

Carlos Tevez is not ready to play despite being welcomed back into the squad by manager Roberto Mancini.

Blackburn's wantaway defender Chris Samba should complete a move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala on Friday.

Fellow defender Michael Salgado has a rib injury, so Gael Givet is expected to cover at left-back.

    MATCH PREVIEW

Carlos Tevez has made all the headlines this week with his belated apology five months on, but the inevitable circus surrounding his return to the pitch for Manchester City will have to wait for a week or two while he regains some semblance of match fitness.

His return to the club will no doubt be the most talked about issue of the day among City fans before kick-off as they gather at the Etihad, and regardless of the rights or wrongs of the whole business many are likely to feel Tevez could be the player to push City over the line in the race for the title.

Tevez's continued absence might be a sliver of good news for Blackburn but no more than that, at a time when they sit just above the relegation zone.

Despite all the continuing trouble and strife, I thought Rovers played really well at Everton the other week when I last saw them for Match of the Day, but they're really up against it here. Manchester City are the only club in the six major leagues in Europe to still have a 100 percent home record with 12 wins out of 12, and a 13th straight victory will equal Newcastle's Premier League best total set in the 1995-96 season.

Blackburn haven't had much success at City in recent years, winning on only one of their last nine visits and they haven't beaten them in any of the last eight meetings home or away.

Manchester City were in fine goalscoring form as they knocked the holders Porto out of the Europa League on Wednesday night with a 4-0 win, and their goalscoring record in the Premier League is impressive too. City have scored 64 goals already, which isn't far behind their best total for a whole Premier League season, when they managed 73 in 2009-10. Conversely, Blackburn's defence has leaked like a sieve at times. They've conceded 56, which is a number only Barnsley have topped in the Premier League era at this stage of a season.

Having won already at Old Trafford this season, Blackburn have shown anything is possible in this league but it could easily turn into a damage limitation exercise here as they try to achieve a rare double success in Manchester.

This is another game that could prove harder then it looks. Blackburn have to come looking for a win if they are to stand any chance of suriving the drop. So I hope it will be an open attacking game, we need to win this 1 by a big margin hopefully another 4 or 5 goals without conceding, would help us alot to improve our goal difference.

If they do park the bus it may be their downfall, as it says above defender Chris Samba should complete a move to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala on Friday, fellow defender Michael Salgado has a rib injury and Gael Givet is expected to cover at left-back.
