I suspect not? And with a tight battle for the title coming up I for one would not be too upset if we were out of it.
Of course we want to progress. It really shouldn't make a difference to our league form, after all we've managed to maintain the Premier League simultaneously with the champions league and FA/Carling cup before. I also think it is an arrogant view that the competition is beneth us. On the basis of tonight we deserve to be in it.
Aye, but a decent run and playing some more European teams will help them get more "Eurowise". Ronaldo, Rooney and cos had to get knocked out of the CL and humbled by Milan before they got to the stage where they could win the comp, this lot will have to go through the same learning curve.
Exactly, use it a learning exercise, but we need Ferdinand and Evra back in vs Bilbao, or WE WILL be out pronto, Rooney should give some stardust.

Realistically, if we get past Bilbao there's only really Valencia and City left to worry about. I'm not saying we won't **** up and go out to Metalist Kharkiv or some other random unknown, but if we can play as bad as we did and still get past Ajax then we've got a damn good chance even if we don't take it all that seriously. Just need to get a settled back four and stick with it.
Our biggest problem was the midfield, Park and Cleverly aren't really going to help protect the back 4. Anderson/Cleverly partnership didn't do that either, but at least they could string some passes together and we could tear teams apart almost at will.
I really cannot get excited about the Europa. No I am not snobbish or condescending but this year this United team just cannot play against a European side, especially at home. So I say let's focus on the prem title. I'll be gutted if we lost key players in the run in because of the Europa.
