Like I said, come back when you've got nine. Or 19 league titles.

    2089 in other words <ok>

Not really. Plenty of similar sized clubs haven't won a PL title yet. Everton, Spurs, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Man City, Wolves, West Ham, Preston North End - what makes Liverpool any more likely to win the PL than any of them?

For a club claiming to be top 4 they had been expected to have won it by now. But as you say if Spurs and Everton haven't won it why would the scousers be any better? With city coming to the fore I cannot see the scousers winning it it for another decade...

They may claim to be top four. But then if I claimed to be Superman, no one would be surprised that I hadn't flown round the world yet... <ok>

The demise of the scousers was just so swift. Going from a club that had competed for he title to a club thats not even in Europe.

Well, when you say "competed" for the title you have to remember they had Benitez as manager. Not really much competition at all...

If you are not in Europe, can you call yourself a 'big' club or are just a mid table club? <ok>

Its not even the timescales involved (Liverpool not having won the league for over 20 years), its the teams who have won it since then:

    Leeds
    Arsenal
    Man Utd
    Blackburn
    Chelsea

And you'd forsee Man City adding to that list. Liverpool are a massive team (I'm a Newcastle fan and we'd be happy to win anything!!! I think we'd celebrate winning the League Cup more than any other club in the country to be honest) but they aren't as big as their fans think they are. 'Global' fans are fickle fans, if they continue to fail to compete in the league and Europe then why would any of the next generation of fans support Liverpool?

I'll take that bet simply because you won't be in it to win it for the next few years at least. KKK had his money to spend and he blew it. The Yanks aren't going to give him 100million a season to finish 7th.

That's like asking why anyone supports Everton, or Newcastle or Bolton. There's an old saying amongst LFC fans and associates 'I didn't chose Liverpool, Liverpool chose me' I doubt we'll struggle to keep our membership numbers high, we seem to be doing alright.

And NOF, I can't see Utd doing anything spectacular in Europe anytime soon. You don't have the pedigree like some European clubs. You proved that twice against the same competition - Give up the dream and stick with the PL

And yet as you trail around 20 points in our wake you think you're nailed on certs for a 6th European Cup. Scouse logic. Or another Scouse comedian? Or an 80's glory hunter who still can't quite believe how things turned out?

I'd recommend you bet him £100, but then given he's going to owe me a ton at the end of the season, his giro cheque probably won't be big enough to cover both...

No chance of them doing a Chelsea then? Liverpool fans and their predictions based on hope. Cute!

Untill FFP kicks in and the ManMeccas cant afford to buy the players or pay the mega wages they need to get the players to play for them.
They will fall back, just like the Chavs, Pool and French Arse.
