So this is the new manager we will be facing at the weekend. This is great news for us. The squad won't have the same boost as if a new manager like Bruce or Curbishley had been brought in. I'm expecting a comfortable win this weekend!!

This is ****e news for us if you ask me. Any boss regardless who it is will give them a boost, I was hoping they'd wait until after the weekend. As players, you just want to know where stand and be convinced the club has a plan. I still think they may have their hands full with us this weekend. I hoping that a refreshed side with our two lads back in the middle will lead to a good win.

This is one we should be expected to win and hopefully we will. Terry Connor might give Wolves players a boost but I still think we will get 3 points.

Isn't that a bit like firing Holmes and putting Watson in charge of the investigation ?

Certainly is. To me if you didn't know better and the players hadn't said otherwise, you'd think this was a clear case of the players losing faith in the manager and getting him pushed. But they've all been coming out saying its their fault and so on. Even Doyle who had been dropped and would have every reason to whine was supportive. This just seems like madness to me.

I'll miss Mick McCarthys interviews, they were quality

I'm pretty sure he was going to be in charge anyway as temporary cover, so what difference does it make whether he's labelled assistant manager or manager?

Connor has been McCarthy's right-hand-man for years, so imo it'll just be the same old ethos and tactics we've seen from Mick.

Been assistant at Wolves for 13 years, they will be more lifted tomorrow knowing that Connor is manager for the rest of the season.

Good job that BBC article was posted otherwise I'd have had no idea who Connor even was.

A fresh manager from outside the old setup might have given them a boost but someone from the old regime recycling Micks hoofball tactics won't have the same effect imo. Still think it won't be as easy as some predict this weekend but a professional performance should see us take it. I'm gonna stick me neck out for a 3-1 win.

Can't wait for Merson and Lawro's predictions on this. My bet is they'll have us down for a loss.

Shocking appointment and can see you boys thumping them this weekend, will honestly be surprised if they pick anymore then 5 or 6 points from now until the end of the season.

i work in wolves quite a lot, there not very confident about this game, and are absolutley furious with the owners. There in a similar situation as to what we were in our relegation year

Really? I don't remember Glenn Roeder or Chris Hughton giving the team any notable lift when they became full time managers. There will be no driving need for the players to impress the new manager and It's not like he has got this wonderful idea that sold him to the board that might excite some of the poorly performing.

    Who?

In fairness we should be beating Wolves at home on form. Our Squad is stronger too. You never know though, they'll come ready to battle and fight for a point. And with their strikers they can always nab a goal. 1-1 i think. Hope not but depends how we start. If we can get a quick goal and pile on pressure we might be comfortable but if they nab a goal or it stays at 0-0 anything can happen.

Not bothered about thumping them. 2-0 will and 3 points in the bag.
But agree I dont see them getting many points efore the end of the season.

They've been rejected by Curbishley (twice?) and Walter Smith. Both of these managers are unemployed, Curbishley has been out of a job for about 30 years. If I was a player and Walter Smith turned down the opportunity to manage my club in favour of sitting on his backside doing nothing, I'd be demoralised so much that I'd want to quit.

It's underwhelming to the players, just like it will be when Stuart Pearce gets the England job for this summer...plenty of passion but lacking inspiration.

Would have preferred nobody was appointed, people will generally always work harder for someone making long term decisions than a stop gap appointment. We should be beating them anyway though, regardess whos in charge. Theyre in a bit of a mess.

I actually believe what the Wolves board said, in that they interviewed the "currently available candidates" and were seriously not impressed with what they heard.

Terry Connor is a well-respected Coach within the game and I can't see how much worse he could do than Steve Kean at Blackburn.
