Adonis looks tougher than the Dovecote so hardly surprising that Alan King sends Grumeti to the 4yo+ race.

Doubt he would be thinking of sending either him or Balder Succes to the Supreme given that he has a decent arrow for that one in the shape of Montbazon.

This from alankingracing.co.uk:

"NEARLY all the racecourse preparation work has been done for Cheltenham now, but, while most of the team have completed their mock-exams for the Festival, the one exception is Grumeti, who will have his dress-rehearsal for the Triumph in the Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday.

Grumeti, unlucky not to be unbeaten in three races over timber, was also entered for the Adonis Hurdle on the same card, in which he would have met horses of his own age group, but, not for the first time, Alan has opted to take on older rivals.
Alan said: “We weren’t going to run Grumeti again before Cheltenham, but ‘Choc’ (Thornton) has never ridden him on the track, so we thought it best he get a feel of the horse before the Festival.
“I felt that we could get Grumeti a bit better than he was in the Triumph Trial at Cheltenham, and his subsequent work at home suggests that he has come on. He has been in terrific form, and taking on the older horses is something I have done quite frequently – I did it with Balder Success at Ascot last week and it worked there, so, hopefully, we will get the same result.”

Interestingly, the web-site author also can't spell Balder Succes properly <laugh>

Afternoon all

Any thoughts on the 3.10 Warwick? - i like the look of Thomas Crapper, 4th last time after meeting trouble against 2 decent horses looks good in the context of this race as far as i'm concerened. Only his 3rd hurdles start so he could well improve again and is my only bet of the day

Not such a good days racing, disappointed with the Sandown card, twas this time last year that we fleeced them down there and met good old Stickler and his better half

One bet for me: 410 EW on Bedouin Bay at 12s, trainer said he is one to follow :)

Be lucky all

Very tricky contest Ouijaboard - will the Nicholls runner be fully tuned? Will the 6lbs penalty be enough to stop the Henderson runner? Tarn Hows is consistent but keeps getting beat. I think William will do best of the Twisters and, as you say, Thomas Crapper's proximity to It's a Gimmee and Baby Shine LTO gives him every chance and he is probably the one to beat on that piece of form. 6/1 currently looks a fair price.

I've got Fairey Delta on my alerts and at 22/1 i'll back it e/w in the Warwick bumper.

Don't like the race placement but the price makes up for it.
