cech RB cahill CB LB Essien luiz sturridge mata LW Torres its as bad as that. they need to get shut of the egos. Ivanovic would be ok to keep for a while i suppose, essien might be a problem, ramieres is a weak player but runs all day, merieles is a pussy... the rest are corrupted but torres could be a basket case. I dunno I think they can;t just buy 10 players or something so i dunno
MITO Thankfully it's not our problem. Plus the longer that Chelsea remain in their present state, the better our chances of getting that 4th spot.
I hope this doesn't happen but it would make sense. Rafa has a proven record in European competitions and he knows how to get the best out of Torres too.
Chelsea-have-made-no-approach-to-Rafael-Benitez-says-agent-amid-rumours-he-will-replace-manager-Andre-Villas-Boas. Usually the agent is the first to boast about this kind of thing, so I am going to assume its the usual 'hypothetical scenario' bullshit trotted out by lazy journos. The 2+2=104 kind. Manager out of work, top drawer, club with european stop at risk - I assume that Hiddink is not available to rescue Roman's investment this time?
On radio 5 last night, the journ's were saying that they KNEW that there had been some form of talks between "people at Chelsea and Benitez's people".
On radio 5 last night, the journos were probably making it up... Roman-Abramovich-says-Rafa-Benitez-not-Chelsea-manager
Perhaps Chelsea were even exploring the question of a Director of Football role - it could take some of the heat off AVB
The Chelsea job's even more of a poisoned chalice than England. AVB's only been doing it for five minutes and already he's a "failure".
The thing about Chelsea's style of play is that you can see what AVB is trying to do, but he doesn't have the players to do it: You could blame the players for not falling in line with AVB and/or not being good enough for the system that AVB is employing, or you could blame the manager for not getting the best out of what he's got, and not playing to their strengths If Rafa came in it might be a similar story, though at least his experience would command more respect, plus his philosophy of building from the back would at least get Chelsea's defence sorted short term, even if it sacrificed whatever attacking flair Chelsea currently have.
