Looks like we're not the only ones who lose to a bunch of Swiss "farmers".

Bayern are massively overrated and a millions miles from being the great side some people make them out to be.

When I said that Basel were more difficult than Leverkusen, Chelski fans laughed at me. I believe that Leverkusen have failed to beat Bayern both this and last season.

Well done Baslse I say, nice to see again this year an unusual suspect in there

Bayern are not as strong as they used to be, then again neither is UNited and ye both lost to Basle, <doh>

Apparently their keeper had a really good game. He did quite well against us if I remember correctly as well, made some saves in the 2nd game (not to mention the OPEN GOAL that Rooney missed! Fuming, I guess that will always be remembered, just like Scholes 'goal' that was wrongly given offside in the Porto game in 2004).

I said this before, with the form we have shown generally since going out. We would have been strong contenders to get to the semi's again, maybe even a final. I may have even said when the draw came out we would have been Bayern. But I still think Bayern will get the job done in the 2nd leg. Also, you'd think a few of the Basel players that have done well this year may be snapped up in the summer. Shaqiri has already gone to Bayern, and another midfielder Xhaha or something performed really well.

Bayern are just a good team these days, nothing more. They rely heavily on Schweinsteiger, who wasn't playing against Basel, Robben and the very inconsistent (and overrated in my opinion) Ribery to grind out results.

The Basel keeper was forced into a couple of very good saves, and a handful of saves you would expect him to make in a game where Bayern had a lot of possession without ever really dominating the game, but Basel also forced Neuer into a couple of top class saves and put one off the bar from about 8 yards with the keeper totally beaten so they were well worth their lead, and I honestly think they will put Bayern out in the second leg.

You could say exactly the same about us, albeit we rely heavily on Rooney, Vidic and Nani rather than just Schweinsteiger. Except when people say it about us it means we're in massive decline and mere weeks away from oblivion, whereas Bayern are the only potential challengers to Real and Barca...

Surprise result but still expect Bayern to turn it around in the 2nd leg.

I said Bayern aren't as good as many make out and you said Bayern aren't as good as they used to be and yet you're criticising me and saying I know **** all about Bayern.

    That makes ****ing sense <doh>
