I think Lawrence has lost his way a bit now, I'd like it if we went in for Norris, Varney or Joel Ward.
Lawrence has spent half the season out injured or suspended, Leave well alone. Norris is very similar and has been off injured for ages. Varney worth a shot as is young Ward.
I like pearce, their centre half although only as back up I suppose. Ward is useful too but apparently adores Pompey and doubt hed want to be seen to be jumping ship. Huseklepp looks ridiculously frustrating. Either way, might end up being a positive our game with them was called off, they might be struggling for players in a few weeks time.
Things getting even worse by the sound of this........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17137954
The axe has started to fall all over the show. Apparently the new admin man was brought in and agreed to by the tax man. No one appears safe and there are going to heaps of redundancies. I understand that many full time staff, not necesserally players will be offered part time jobs with much reduced pay, the players are going to be told to take deferred wages or leave, many of the stewards and other part time workers are going to have to work for nowt or go. I think they will have just a bunch of young kids playing for them when we go there. They have had their bank balance reopned but the admin man has been told that that is all there is. Doesnt make for good reading. Many of the fans are now actually saying the best thing to do now is to fold and restart just as Aldershot and Chester did.
What a state of affairs down on the south coast - this new Administrator has just been quoted as saying they are still paying Premier League wages on Championship income ffs. And this after all that happened first time around - beggars belief. The ground's falling apart, the players are on mega bucks by NPC standards and the people that take the rap in all of this mess are the relatively poorly paid staff. Have no symapthy with the players whatsoever - just footballing mercenaries.
Birmingham City have taken Erik Huseklepp On Loan for the rest of the season to help Portsmouth reduce there wage bill and save much needed cash. After the CEO and other senior members of staff were made redundant, who next to go from Portsmouth...........
Cheers. Should have paid pay more attention to the menu. I can see many more going actually. How many will accept a pay deferral of wages. What else have they as Birmingham have taken the one player I would have considered.
Complete nonsense, mrs tickler is very good for you by the sound of things. Doesn't she bake home made pies for you to take to the football?
Home made pies??? Do you think if I asked her nicely and slipped her a couple of quid she'd leave you and come and be my "housekeeper"?
This has been apparent for ages. Ever since they were relegated with us, we were implementing cost cutting measures and they kept on signing more and more PL players on mega money, it was always going to end like this. Even as recently as this summer they beat us to David Norris by offering him more. I can't believe they've been allowed to do it.
If people think sitting just outside the playoff places, playing decent football, creating chances galore and being unlucky only to draw the match is stressful, i think maybe they should take a leaf out of Pompey's fans book. You wouldn't have thought we were doing well by reading some of your posts. If that was us, some of you lot would be on suicide watch.
