We dont know what Almunia is on, but there are a number of references (beyond Football Manager!) that quote a figure of £50k per week.
No one knows for certain how much a player earns besides Arsenal FC the player himself and HMRC.Anything else is pure speculation
He was our number one for two full seasons. 50k is about right. I'm more concerned that Bendter is on 55k (despite never having proved himself to be anything other than a donkey) and we have all these guys like Chamakh, Park, Denilson, Squillaci that are getting decent wages but NOT playing. also what about all the loaness we've got out? vela, denilson, campbell, lansbury, frimpong etc.. are we paying their wages also? (or do we get money from the clubs to cover this?) If you force your way into the starting 11 and become a regular you deserve a decent pay check. If your warming the bench or dont even make the sqaud your pay should be considerably less. Thats' the way it works at most clubs.
Not really, it says IF we dont make champions league there should still be about 10 mil, then we'd have to sell players..... well everyone here has said sell, almunia, fabianski, diaby, denilson, etc etc etc etc etc
these wage estimates originate from Agent leaks in sounding out possible clubs for their little treasures to move to.
My mate's missus' Hairdresser's window cleaner said he met a bloke down the pub the other day who overheard a conversation in the supermarket where a woman was saying that her son's best friend used to know a bloke who worked with someone whose son said that Aluminia was on £50k But I suppose he could have just been playing Football Manager
in all truth i'd rather pay squallici 100k a week if he promised not to play .... a lot of wengers credibilty has suffered because he rates this guy and to think he even captained the first team once .... how it all has unravelled this year. Almunia was a good squad gk, occasional shop stopper .. given an extended run and well its all history, the term donkey would be an improvement as for someone like djourou he was the same .. he's reputation (like a lot of 50k a week players at arsenal) got better the more he didn't play, given a run and told to step up ... failure , but here have a new (improved) deal as someone said the players individual earnings are all "secret" but im sure sources with these 50k estimates are accurate enough taken from the total wage bill so a few averages and our sal cap at 100k should given accurate guesstimates to play with here for debate. wenger is overpaid, i assume he's earning more now then c98-2005, i bet he's had sal increases for failure over inflation what ever we are paying archavin bentner and denilson should be totaled averaged out and then taken from wengers salary as a lawful deduction from pay for incompetant managment. the man incharge of all this loan deals and saleries is the manager and he must be held to account, not given the chance to do it all again next year.
My mate's missus' Hairdresser's window cleaner who said he met a bloke down the pub the other day who overheard a conversation in the supermarket where a woman was saying that her son's best friend used to know a bloke who worked with someone whose son said that Aluminia was on £50k - may have misheard
yeah - thats the trouble with this earwigging stuff- sometimes you just have to ask to get the story right. Anyway everybody knows window cleaners can't keep their mind on what they are told. Too much peeking through the curtains.
Can I just ask - if we're sitting on a £200m surplus cash pile ... then why are people getting upset about us paying a player £50k per week, Surely we can afford it? Just sayin' ....
