I would'nt count on it but it's worth a try, normally them dodgy streams just freeze if they come on at all and it's a great way to pick up a virus on your computer.
Anywhere that isn't restricted by the daft Champions League televised game rules. It's probably on Al Jazeera Sports, or some fringe Chinese channel.
I bet it's not even a video link, it's just Burnsy talking over a still image of the two clubs' badges.
I bet they get high viewing figures. At least with the Leicester game we knew there'd be one because the Thai owners have all their games broadcast back home. I just can't see where the interest is, unless the Allams are sending our games back to Egypt.
All countries who have the rights for Champions League games, aren't allowed to televise any other games while they're on.
That's ****ing pathetic, so say for example sky have champions league rights, espn couldn't show a league game or itv couldn't show something like an fa cup replay?
Indeed, the league's involved in the Champions League sign up to not allowing the rights to any of the other league or cup games being shown in competition.
Correct, but it's not to do with the broadcasters, it's UEFA refusing to allow any competition to the viewing figures for their competitions, even Sky with CL rights can't show other compeitions at the same time. Last year the SPL and Sky got round it by having tea time kick offs for St Johnstone against the Old Firm (one game against each) followed by the live Champions League coverage.
So that means the premier league speak for us all in the championship and below? Don't the premier league come under a different governing body anyway? Do the rules apply when all the teams from any specific country are knocked out? Or can they opt to not show any CL in favour of league/domestic cup?
The FA and the Premier League both sign up to it, as there's a chance of Championship teams being in European competitions, as with Brum this season.
It still applied in Scotland this time last year, so without checking I'm going to say they still apply.
That can't be true, Al Jazeera are showing Derby v Leicester tomorrow as well as all the UEFA Europa League games, I'm sure they had some French league football on during the Man City game tonight as well.
It is true, the SPL had to rearrange fixtures last season for tea time kickoffs in order to televise them. Al Jazeera aren't a UK channel, they're primarily a middle eastern channel available in different languages, one of which also happens to be available in the UK. As they're not based in a UEFA country they can broadcast what ever they have the rights to. Man City wouldn't have counted anyway because they weren't playing at a designated UEFA match time. Their game should have been played tomorrow but they can't be at home at the same time as Man U so they got shifted.
