I must say how funny it was for RV to go from "You must be mental" to "Might have a dabble" with the words "already has a handicap mark" and to think people suggest racing is corrupt
Pushing 4 out... pulled up level at the last pushed all the way to line pulling away... Won by 2 lenghts... But not in the style of a 4/5 fav... In my opinion...
Most of the day to day racing I think what we do is to try to work out what the connections are up to and wether the time is right. Its a skill trying to keep up with a lot of them. Even the straightest yards partially fund their activities with gambling. A problem that a lot of honest trainers have these days is satisfying the demands of owners, many of whom come in to the game for the gambling rather than any love of the sport. Fortunately for us punters we have many tools to aid and abet our spotting of these plots. Imagine twenty years ago relying on the Sporting Life alone.
