I am completely astounded that Djourou was given a new contract - another player who is not good enough who can float around on a long contract sucking up wages.
I was intrigued to hear you had 71 players, so I popped on Wikipedia to check out the squad list. You don't half have some ****e on the books.
Maybe I'm niaive but I thought the attendance figures were those that turned up, not those who bought tickets. Is it Barca that have 90k season ticket holders ? They post attendances of less than that figure regularly, in fact for a Champions Lge game last season they posted a home attendance of 37k. How can it work differently in England and what's the benefit to the club in providing incorrect figures ?
1 - English people are lazy 2 - It's not going to benefit the club to admit their attendances are poor and decreasing
I remember Tottenham years ago (early 80's) used to declare attendances of 25k when there were 35k in the ground but that was to avoid declaring the income which was a clear benefit, but I don't get why Arsenal say there's 60k there when only 52k turn up. they might have sold every ticket but if 8k season ticket holders don't show how can the attendance possibly be 60k ? I must be missing something....
The club has nothing to do with the selling of these tickets. These tickets are bought by these agencies using memberships. There is nothing to stop anyone buying a membership
It's because all the tickets have been sold.If people don't turn up the club doesn't care as they've made their money
CYM - so it is likely the agents pay red member face value? I suppose thats alright then. doh. I imagined they were bulk buying with a discount.
It's not alright as the people who buy the tickets are being ripped off and besides touting of tickets for football mtches in this country is illegal and has been for some years
It's only illegal for football but i think the government are bringing legislation in about olympic ticketsTickemaster are a legitimate ticket agency and many clubs sell their tickets through them. You used to have to use Ticketmaster for Arsenal tickets.
Then the media will have to stop reporting 'attendances' then. The very word indicates that it is the number of people attending an event, which clearly they're not. You could feasibly have a game where 60k tickets are sold but everyone decides not to go yet the 'attendance' would still be reported at 60k ? Has to be wrong...
I only make around 6-8 games a year and I can honestly say there are very very few empty seats for any game (block 114), I've seen a few more this season in the lower tiers (and on TV) but not to the tune of 7-8k. Oh well, live and learn....
