Does anyone think that a Saints player could be named? Lallana? Last week he was spotted at St Mary's and with Lallana also being named in the top 3 players for Player of the Year do you think it could happen? He has also seen him perform for the U21s on a few occasions! Your thoughts...
Would be nice though, we've had a few Saints players in the U21's, Corky too. It's just a friendly so I should imagine he'll be giving a lot of youngsters/fringe players a go to see what they can do before the new gaffer comes in.
on the left will be either milner , downing or young. milner is hard working but could not beat an egg, downing is shyte (brighton made him look good though) and young is coming back from injury but is the best of the 3. if we get promoted and lallana skins a few top quality defenders- he will get his chance
by inexperienced, he probably means people like chambo, sturridge, smalling, jones, walker etc. and i imagine pearce was at the game to watcch the likes of jay rod and mee for the next u21 squad not lallana for next full england squad
This. He is too important for us, especially now he has overcome his niggling injuries and is back to his goal scoring best. Plus the chances of him being called up, even for a friendly are thin
I like our youngsters to get experience in u16, 17, and u18 teams, but would rather Lallana (and rest of 1st team) was fresh for Saints. I would of course be pleased for him if it happened.
