Both Players are obviously very good verging on World Class but who would you prefer in your team? This is purely based on Football nothing to do with personality or if they have been accused of Racism.

Cavani for Napoli has played 57 games scoring a rather impressive 41 goals, at Palermo however only scored 34 goals in 101 games.

Suarez on the other hand for Liverpool has scored 10 just goals in 33 games (however he does create more) and at Ajax had a much better record 81 goals in 110 appearances, a very impressive feat despite only being in the Eredivisie.

In internationals Suarez has a more impressive record, 26 goals in 52 caps, Cavani just 10 in 36 caps. My personal/biased opinion is that Suarez is better despite his worse goals scoring ratio of late, Personally in the 5 games i have watched of Napoli with Cavani in the team i've never seen him play particually well (just as i type this he scores), but his goal scoring record is sublime.

Both, he is Uraguayan, we have Coates and Suarez, so that gives us a chance, going to cost lots of ££££ but would be absolutely brilliant if we could pull it off in the summer. He is the absolute real deal, one of the finest in Europe at present. Pleassssseeeeeeee John Henry Pleassssseeee

Ripped Chelsea and City to pieces so far.

I dont see them as comparable players, which is why they play well together, they each have what the other doesn't.

Yea used to think this about Villa & Silva etc when we had a Spanish manager and all the Spanish Players, but it never happened, if City decide they want to pay him £250000 a week, that will be the end of it, but you never know........

Cavani,he is a top class player.Suarez is a fantastic player, very different to Cavani though.
Cavani is what Carroll could be.

Na, Cavanni is quick and mobile and an instictive finisher, also has great awareness(exacly what we miss/need). Carroll is fantastic in the air, holds the ball up well, powerful left foot. Both different. Would be great to have all three.

    -----------Cavani----------

    -Lavezzi----Gerrard---Suarez

Would be pretty tasty. It won't happen though, too expensive IMO. Maybe one would come but not both. (I know the OP wasn't talking about Lavezzi but for me Lavezzi is just as impressive as Cavani if not more so).

Think Suarez can play the Lavezzi Role, then either Cavanni or Carroll up front. That would give us the perfect balance of strikers. Cavanni (pace, finishing) Suarez (dribbling, trickery) Carroll (strength, aerial)

Also think it would be intresting to see a goal poacher play of Carroll for all the knock downs etc.

Well if I was going to move to a foreign country, I would prefer to move somewhere where you already know people (Suarez, Coates) so you never know, but think City will be sniffing around him, and money talks.

And every top player probably has a friend at Man City.

At City he has less game time garenteed with Ballotelli, Aguero and Dzeko.

I'd say Cavani is easily the better player, Suarez is a good player, but he isn't clinical enough for my liking. He got alot of goals in the Dutch league, because it's a poor league, but he's been found out so far in the Premier League.

Judging Cavani in his Palermo days is unfair as he was still a youngster, I think you have to judge him
On his form over the last 2 seasons, now that he's reached his prime. The Italian league is comparable with the Premier League, results in the CL this season prove that, and Cavani is a far better player in Serie A than Suarez is in the Premier League:biggrin:

When we talk about strikers to bring in I am pretty unsure on who to wish for, the most obvious out there are the ones that would never happen (Ibrahimovic, Messy, Ronaldo, Higuain etc).
Cavani is a player that may just come to us if we decided to shell out and offer him an attractive contract, only thing I can see getting in the way it is if another club offers him a better contract with ridiculous wages.

Problem is, every club in Europe will probably want him and we will struggle to attract him without Champions League football.

Going back to the OP - I would rather have Suarez because he creates chances and can make something out of nothing. No point having a good finisher if he doesn't have good qualtiy chances. Suarez makes things happen.

However, Cavani and Suarez are two different players but I think this would make them a formidable partnership. Plus, Cavani was born in the same town as Suarez so maybe they have a good friendship already?

  19. Your right to say expensive but also, would Napoli let both leave?

Or a team in the Champions League offer him the same contract as you do!

Your 7th at the moment, unless you can improve and get 4th, then you have no chance of getting him
