There is a daft bet lurking in the novice hurdles. I think Gigginstown could win all three. Trifolium in the Supreme, Boston Bob in the Neptune and Folsom Blue in the Albert Bartlett. I think they all have a good chance. It just depends on what race Boston Bob goes for. I will be having a few quid on the treble just for fun.

Davy Russell was saying in an Irish Preview Evening that the Albert Bartlett was the likely destination for Boston Bob.

Well that has put paid to that then. Also the fact Boston Bob is owned by Graham Wylie <doh>

He better not - the bronze medal of the novice hurdle division is certainly not an acceptable race for the best novice hurdler seen this season.

I really hope he goes for the Neptune. Fancy him to beat Fingal Bay. I also really like the chances of Folsom Blue if he was allowed to take his chance.

If he heads for the Albert Bartlett I would pick Monksland for the Neptune

There is that too! Like you, I always seem to picture him as a Gigginstown horse in my mind and I'm not sure why . . . <doh> <laugh>

If it was Ruby chatting away about BB then i'd listen but it's not so I won't. I've backed him for both at 12/1 and 8/1 but much prefer the Neptune as the target. i'd rather see a fantastic race against Fingal Bay and if he loses then so be it.

Not put the bet on yet, but any thoughts on Kazlian for the Fred Winter?

I think off 130 this strapping individual is being lined up for the Pipe special, Imperial Cup, Fred Winter double. They did it with Gaspara in 2007 and almost followed up with Ashkazar (2nd in Fred Winter) in 2008.

This horse to me looks to be in the same mould as is 16/1 for the Fred Winter at the moment. Is it worth a few quid?

Nass - only stat I remember for the Fred Winter is that no winner has won on either their first two runs which would discount Kazlian - I know the race is only a few years old but Paul Jones pulled this race out at the single biggest cheat-up in racing, a handicap for 4 year old hurdlers ?
All trainers have to do is enter their charges in unfavoured conditions a couple of time, sneak into the race as an improving unexposed type and get a nice weight of under 11st - What a Charm ran in bogs at Leopardstown/Punchestown last year showing little form, sneaks into this race on 10st 6lb and wins.
Personally I think the race the race is a joke, there's no place for it and it ridicules one of the sports legends....

Wasn't Gaspara unbeaten (in the UK) when she won it?

But with a few useful stats like uve stated can narrow the field right down to bout 3-4 runners grizzly so its an ideal betting race if you look for the right thing , often decent priced winners too . I've managed to show a profit in the race the last 3 years just by following Paul Jones said stats and backing level stakes e/w on the horses that fit , usually only a few do

Doesn't look good for supporters of Grandouet in the Champion Hurdle. Apparently the horse is having surgery tonight and Henderson will update his Cheltenham prospects afterwards.

    Also . . .

I am ashamed to admit that I have invested a little, and I do mean a little, of my Zarkandar winnings on Binocular EW at 8/1 in the Champion Hurdle. For all his sins I thought that was too big a price given that he has a good chance of placing in the form he showed at Wincanton. 1pt EW at 8/1 with Coral

Possibly, I assume Jones included her runs in France when considering trends.
