Goal music is just about on a par with the Star Wars theme tune IMO. Our stuff isn't toooo bad, in contrast at least.
I couldn't stand drums and goal music. Whilst watching some of the highlights from the Bundesliga on some dodgy foreign sky package in the pub the other day, i noticed that nearly all the Bundesliga teams have banging, club style, hardcore dance music after they score. Thi is followed by the bloke with the microphone shouting out the first part of the goal scorers name so the fans could chant his surname and they do it 3 or 4 times. Imagine getting thrashed away, you'd be embarrassed.
We've played it once, I can't remember if it was the theme or the Imperial Death March but we had it specially for the game when Beardsley was captaining Hartlepool at BP. At least you wouldn't have to put up with it very often.
i thought sheff united played annies song which they then sing there own version of....have done last 2 times ive been there anyway..
The way I see it we've always been a big club, but have suffered from mismanagement throughout our history which has held us back. Even when we were getting 5000 for league games at Boothferry the fans would always turn up when it counted.
big small , its all relative , though its a small club that has fans arguing about the size of the club
It's better than the clapping song that plays after Republika. It's lame and has homosexual undertones (no matter how much you clap, the players are NOT going to take their clothes off, despite what the two old biddies in front of me think). Although Can't Help Falling in Love with You is a great song for us, it seems that every set of travelling away fans know the lyrics so it's not really pumping our fans up. I think they should go for something like Thunderstruck by AC/DC, then replace the repeating 'Thunder' with 'Tigers'......
People usually started singing it anyway, don't know why they bother playing the music, and having the words on the screen is just embarrassing. Although I can put up with that, goal music would finish me off I think, it's pathetic
@ least if we introduced goal music instead of 'Cant help Falling In Love' we wouldn't have to listen to it most weeks!
I think we're a bigger club now then in the past, it goes hand in hand with the new KC and the PL seasons. Emlyn Hughes said it didn't he at City "This is a sleeping giant". But we still have a small club mentality in many ways. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as it keeps our feet on the ground. In reality we should be better than those Lancashire clubs with smaller catchment areas.. Wigan, Bolton etc. Hull is a city not a town and as the 10th (isn't it?) biggest city in England we should be aiming for PL.
It reminds me of the Thunderbirds music when they're going down all the weird chutes and things to get from the house to the Thunderbirds.
