I am delighted to see that other members of this fine forum revel not only in the beauty of the Sport of Kings, but also in the beauty of the English language. As Oddy says, what a dull and boring place this world would be if we restricted ourselves to saying only that which was 'necessary'. The finest of examples resides on this very forum; Sir Barney Chuckles. A great exponent of decorative and flamboyant language himself. I enjoy the way in which Sir Barney expresses himself as much, and if not more, than what he actually says. There can be enjoyment in the words themselves rather than just in their meaning. And, the regularity with which his phrases (dining at the top table, Impressive with a capital 'I', Mr Henderson the forum's favourite trainer, etc) are repeated suggests that other members feel likewise. Diamond Edge, I can only apologise if you would beg to differ.

Apart from the 3.05 which i found a right pig to have a go at... Good luck to all who indeed play today...
Hey young man, no need to apologise at all. Its just sometimes people try to use words that confuse others to boost their egos and belittle those like me who have been denied the opportunity of a public schooling. How i love the thought of being a public school boy, being able to speak proper England and to be accepted by the chosen ones around here. I need to be more tolerant of peoples opinions and not be too judgemental of others, im not worthy, im not worthy
Velator now as low as 7/2 in a place - the money keeps coming. To be fair to them they are not a yard that habitually leaves their money behind.
A few for me to curse today at biggish prices Moose Moran 16/1 @ Wetherby 14:40 Jacksons Cage 15/2 @ Wetherby 15:50 and small e/w bet on Like Ben 50/1 @ Taunton 14:00 Good Luck to the punting punters
In the 4.45 MARIGOLDS WAY at 25/1 is a cracking EW bet, formerly with the Honeyball yard and now Hunter Chasing, with the 7lb claimer is on a wining mark and conditions and distance should suit. Get on early my moonfruits
6 career starts, form 960009, closest finish 25 lengths behind Benheir in a bumper end of November, last 4 runs in novice hurdles beaten 50, 63, 73 and 55 lengths. The only positive is the drop in class today but it definitely wants looking at if this wins today.
I'm not sure Oddy - I was told on it's debut it was a good horse and it attracted a bit of cash. Previous to that it was entered in a decent bumper on a Saturday (forgotten when and where) but was pulled out. Personally I think it's a horse that shows a lot at home but doesn't put it in on the track for whatever reason. I'd expect a much better showing today (wind op?) but probably not a win or a place.
Also quite interesting that Velator has been pitched in against some decent sorts - possibly why the performances have been so poor thus far.
Afternoon all less one as good old 'Ray' used to say apologies for keeping you all waiting A few today on what looks an OK days racing: 340T - Nice race with several holding chances and old favourite Dee Ee Williams (who owes a lot of us nothing after huge wins) may be able to place at a rather tasty 40s. However the main event surely is Devil To Pay who twice won nicely last season and started off this year with a run behind 2 good uns in Ringaan and Third Intention. 5s is indeed a fair price. 415T - Another horse that has won well for me and looks to be on a nice mark is Roxanne Breure however she is totally pink on oddschecker and normally the yard come for this mare when she is gonna run well! 10s has been accepted and an EW wager placed. 520T - Victor Dartnall's horses are running well again and he is excellent in this bumper sphere often bringing a nice sort to the races, WHACKO (6s first thing was gratefully received) is my fancy in what looks a decent bumper for the course! Finally in the Northern bumper at what will be a very windy Wetherby i have taken a chance on a 50/1 shot trained by Ferdy, Definitely Pip may give me a run for my small EW outlay. Be lucky all and Wayward, stop winding up the 'regulars' just coz they speek proper innit
