Carl Froch has admitted prolonging fights so that family and friends can make money from bets made. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-17088977
Today is British boxing's equivalent of the day after 9/11. So while I'm shocked at the story I'm not remotely surprised about the timing.
Froch distancing from those previous comments, wise move Carl, lucky you are not a cricketer. http://www.boxingscene.com/froch-responds-scandal-with-prolonging-fight-bets--49788
Don't see anything wrong with Froch predicting a round to try beat a fighter in. All boxers do it. Nothing to do with fixing fights.
Nothing wrong in that, but there is something wrong in telling your family/friends to bet on a round, having the ability to take out your opponent early but carry him so your family/friends to cash in on your bet. Especially if Froch never made his prediction public and only told his family. If you lost money on a Froch fight because of this, you are not going to be too happy.
