I think Steve Clarkes influence on our defence show how much a good striker/ attack coach could do for our strikers and goal scoring record. Who agrees? I also like the improvement we have shown with set pieces lately and think it deserves a mention!!
The selection of Agger and Skrtel together has had a knock on effect. Its allowed us to push the defence higher because of their pace so that makes Johnson is playing in a much more comfortable role than he was under Rafa and Hodgson playing deep alongside Carragher. Then you've got Enrique who's solidified the left back position meaning Agger looks much more comfortable that he doesn't always have to anticpate the full back getting beaten (Konchesky, Insua) and track back. So no, I don't agree. I just think we need to find attacking players that fit that well together and can help improve each other.
Ok some good points made here. I do feel a striker coach is always a profit though. Extra guidance and experience.
