for a guid its worth a gamble. i bet the longer he goes on without scoring the odds will increase. Once it gets to 300+/1 them a tenner is goin on. he must score one day.
already have £10 on for the 2-0 at 7-1. I am probably not brave enough to go for the individual scorers though.
Can't see us giving them a sniff in front of goal, the question should be whether we score. Another 0-0 would make me cry I think. As always, an early goal would help.
Are they first scorer odds? I know with us it doesn't usually matter, but they look long odds for a score at any time which is what you'd want for a 2-0 (can you imagine how pissed off you'd be to get 2-0 and the scorers but have put them the wrong way round?) Online bookies are generally pretty good for it at this level. Going back Leon Cort always used to be about 16/1 for first goal in the ground, Ladbrokes online were offering 50/1 for first scorer. I didn't take it up for the home game and he had four or five chances and didn't get one. I saw Ladbrokes had left him at the same odds for the next game away at Norwich. £5 on and he opened the scoring in about 3 minutes. Next game they'd reduced his odds to 10/1.
OK I'll rephrase. Scoring nil again would make me cry. I thought it was pretty obviouas that losing 1-0 was worse than 0-0. Reading that back it seems very negative. All I meant was that whilst I'm sure we'll dominate the game, there's always that chance we'll fail to score and throw the points away. If we score early I'm confident we can score a few.
I was just messing and I know what you mean, though I do find some of the negativity about what is steadily developing into the best team i've ever seen play for this club frustrating, it's not quite there yet but who knows, a little more positivity from the supporters might just help what is a very young and talented squad make the play offs.
I completely agree that it's a great side. It just frustrates me that it deserves a lot better than 'maybe making the playoffs'. You look at the teams in the top 2 or 3 and they aren't any better than us. We've outplayed them all. The big difference is they finish their chances. If we fall short by a few points this year it will be painful rewatching the games we should have won.
Totally agree, but that's the danger of the club pinning its hopes on youth, at times they surprise you and get results you wouldn't expect ie Reading and then cock up like they did against Donny due to lacking that little bit of guile. I'm also one of the few who don't hold Matt Fryatt responsible for our lack of goals, I believe he is being played in a role where he links the front 3 and Koren and more often than not finds himself back to goal 30 yards out, not a position where he gets his goals from, I think both Brady and Stewart leave him quite isolated' again a youth thing but if they learn quickly and provide the support they are there for we might just get the goals to challenge the top two.
In the meantime, tonight's matches could do us some good - if Millwall and Barnsley can scrape wins, and Blackpool get a point from West Ham....... Yeah, I know, but I'm an optimist.
Wish I was more optimistic sometimes but i don't like to get ahead of myself. City have disappointed me too many times in the past. I think I am more frustrated than pesimistic as like others have said, this team has unbelievable potential. The frustration stems from lack of goals and I believe it will cost us promotion this season.
Well IF Gus Poyet has left Brighton for the Wolvers job who knows what state Brighton will be in. I am sticking to another close 1-0 Hull City WIN.
I M O I can see the Blackpool v. West Ham ending in a draw which is the best result for Hull City. Barnsley and Millwall are more than capable of winning there matches tonight. Fingers crossed for all 3 tonight.
