Actually, after I wrote my earlier post, I thought to myself, "I wonder if YV has posted a photo of Field Marshall Haig, as an old man?" And I was right to wonder, in those terms, as it turned out. He looked like a hero, to me, nonetheless.
General Question. I keep having difficulty printing a whole word in capitals, it always makes at least one letter lower case, anyone else have that happen?
Only messing. It doesn't work when your whole post is in caps and no capitals ever work in swear words for some reason.
not just me then!...I rarely bother, but it is swear words I would be doing it to, so that explains that, must be to do with the 'no swearing option'
How could you put a picture of "butcher" Haig on the Spurs boards.That man should have been dragged to the front and shot! He sent Brits over the top against insane machine gun fire while sitting on his duff back in a nice warm building,not knowing the conditions those poor blokes were going through! "Butcher" Haig indeed!
Oh, I think Haig was well aware of what was happening, Smithy. But as the vast majority of them were only working class cannon fodder, he didn't give a toss. There were always plenty more where they came from!
100 per cent agree.........Spain! My grandad came home from WW1 with one eye missing and also shot in the mouth.He was always deaf when I knew him.His daughter thinks he was sent to the front deaf!!!!!!!? That wouldn't surprise me.His brother became a Chelsea pensioner.Outside right (only kidding!)
My grandad was there too. He always refused to talk about it. I think he just wanted to try and erase the whole horror show from his memory.
