Is that not just going encourage the flat track bullies? A 10-0 victory over Bolton would be better than 1-0 victories vs Utd, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs. The title would just be decided by who can bang in the most goals when the opponents have players sent off or injured or just a **** game. And I don't think it would encourage attacking football - small clubs would park the bus even more cos they'd know a 1-0 loss wouldn't be all that bad and would rather avoid conceding again that going for an equaliser.
True but then by that logic surely say a 4-1 victory over utd at old trafford should be worth more than a scrappy 1-0 against wigan Well it would force everyone to take those opportunities to hammer home an advantage instead of settling for 2-0 up with 30 minutes to go. Surely thats no worse than teams playing for a draw from the start, also you see teams doing that now because a big loss is bad for morale, plus can you risk sitting back if conceding another has a real impact rather than just morale? Not saying its perfect but the system is not right now.
No more shoot outs in MLS, draws are 1 point, a win is 3. Too many real fans hated the whole bastardization of the game, so MLS reverted back to FIFA rules. Thank God. There are Americans who appreciate the game and can revel in the nuances of fine passing. They all don't end in goals, and most fans realize it.
When are you going to sort out that other game - drop the helmets, re-institute penalties for forward passing and just have 15-a-side on the pitch with limited replacements and not entire sides for when you have the ball or are defending.
