If that is true then as long as the club are getting a gd deal financially then its a very good move IMO.

Considering it beats SSN to breaking news, and considering some tweets are from what seem to be reliable, please excuse me for doing so. Just because it's me writing this article, doesn't make it any less true.

Like I said, rumours, however it would be hilarious!

Just for the record, i'll get this in before any naming rights are sold.

I couldn't give 2 ****s if it was called dog **** alley, as long as the team is performing.

If we'd still been at Roker Park (history, tradition, pride etc) and they changed the name to something daft I think all fans would be in uproar, but considering its already called the quite preposterous 'Stadium of Light' (recent, most fans dont like the name as it is) then as long as we get the cash, most wont be fussed!!!

SAFC have quashed suggestions circulating in African press that Stadium of Light is to be renamed the Invest In Africa Stadium. It isn't.

    Oh well. Nice try Tadger.

    "The Sony Stadium Of Light".

Fair play. Doubt it would have ever happened but it would certainly be an interesting move.

I can't see many queuing up paint in hand, to daub the walls of our stadium.
Especially as I don't think we would be too happy at the costs involved in cleaning the walls.

The name of the stadium will get changed, eventually, I just hope they dont plaster it all over and make it look like a massive billboard.

1 sign outside the ground, and 1 above the front entrance is all it needs. (and not even with their logo, just the name)

To be fair, I think the statement of intent is there. Any club in the world would do it if the name meant a lot to the club. It'll be washed off, and maybe even put back on again. I like the sentiment from whoever did it, it's just a shame that he'd rather lose a million washing these things off than just changing it back.

Agreed that I couldn't care what the ground is called, if it boosts our revenue by millions each season which is then reflected in improved players and results then they can stick a picture of my white ar5e on the main entrance to go with it as well.

WTG all hail vandalism, as long as it is in a good cause in some peoples minds.
