Statistically speaking, only Man U and Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa in the premier league are bigger than Leicester along with west ham and Leeds being bigger clubs as well, I'd also say that both Sheffield clubs can class themselves as big clubs despite the league status. This is based on fan base only, ie if asked who you follow/support. Anyway that's what the Internet has been telling me! Statistically Leicester is a bigger club than Norwich but of cause Norwich are a top 10 team and we ain't, hope that changes soon
You forgot a few others..... The Rising Sun FC - Coltishall The Walpole Arms FC- Itteringham As all these gianst are still involved with the Champions league it's unlikey that their 'fair weather' fans are likely change their allegiances to Norwich
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_football_clubs_have_the_biggest_fan_bases_in_England_1-20 Except Leeds have a bigger fanbase!
The stats above are a fair reflection of our respective club sizes. We are bigger than Norwich, but not by a long way. I think our histories are not too dissimilar. We're both lower Prem, upper Championship sides, like (historically speaking) Forest, Derby, Sheff Utd, Wolves, Ipswich, Brum, West Brom, Coventry, Middlesboro, Sunderland, Stoke, QPR, Palace and Bolton. I would consider all those clubs to be bigger than Fulham, Wigan and possibly Blackburn, despite current league standings. West Ham, Sheff Wed and Leeds are historically bigger than all those clubs, but only time will tell if history has any bearing on the future.
You also have to take into account infrastructure - It's harder for fans to get to games in Norfolk as they have to navigate the mud tracks. Not all of them have a horse and cart either. Where as in the midlands fans have the benefits of being able to use roads so not a fair comparison.
You're not a big club, you're not a bigger club than Norwich. You're deluding yourselves. You're turning into Leeds/Forest fans. You're doing this because you know the country thinks nothing of your football team. I understand though, keeping yourself in a big club bubble does stop you from facing reality. Atleast Forest and Leeds actually are big clubs. Leicester is just funny.........adorable even......"Plucky Leicester".....Keep up the good work. Enjoy your day at Stamford bridge, I think you deserve it. It could be decades before you get another visit. Whilst we will go next year....so I'm happy for you guys. Fly the flag for the lower leagues.....I doubt you can remember this but Norwich actually use to be a lower division club. So I will support you guys all the way.
Norwich is a smaller city and a smaller club, but we should just agree to disagree I think and move on, you are premier league, we're still in the cup
Sorry I literally thought Leicester was a crisp based club. No idea it was an actual city as well. Must be a tiny little place sandwiched between Nottingham and Birmingham. Enjoy your cup run. Leicesterians.
Haha. Some nice tongue in cheek posts. NSATP - we beat you on Saturday, dont happen too often at your place, so let us enjoy ourselves. But if we are talking about history, then surely Ipswich must be regarded as the biggest club in East Anglia - days of Alf Ramsey (whch I remember) etc.
Just for you Norwich Stare, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_United_Kingdom_settlements_by_population You have to scroll down quite a bit before you reach Norwich and its Loughborough size population
I find all this we are bigger than you stuff pathetic...look I have got a humongous knob...you don't see me waving it about, shouting look how huge I am to women in the street...ive got more dignity than that...ok except for once...grow up for god sake..
At the end of the day were still in the cup and it keeps our season alive. Norwich set out to stay in the Prem and they should do that aslong as they dont go on a massive slump from here on. We just have 1 troll from Norwich who is bitter, He must of been one of the fans Nugent wound up when he scored. just ignore him and he will go.
