    Trophies are the highest forms of success, it shows you are the best, number 1, above all others, it cements your place in history.

    Who doesnt look back at Arsenal 89 at Anfield every now and then? Dont think we'd be doing that if Thomas' goal was a consolation effort in a loss.

    successful is the wining trophies, and it just depend on type of trophy too. Fine I like the fact Arsenal are going do financially, but Arsene has lost it about wining trophy.

    Challenging for the title and playing in Europe's number one competiton is the most important thing.


    However now were'e doing neither, so things have to change.

    No one will remember how well you played or how competitive you were if you didn't get a trophy for it. Simple as. No one will remember the Arsenal of a year or so ago (Barca lite) because you were unlucky and didn't get a trophy.

    Pain in the arse for the cleaning lady to ensure they are kept shiny though. Also silver polish is quite expensive, so the club can save some money by not having trophies.
