That player is probably Tal Ben Haim who we couldn't get rid of last season cause no one wanted him and we couldn't release because it would cost us too much.
Because some Bristol fans wanted Pompey to fold, just to safe guard their NPC future would be my guess.
Because they are fighting off the threat of relegation and would like to do so on an even playing field as would Forest and Coventry et al.
Be careful saying this as Pompey fans are posting that Huseklepp, Norris and Varney were all affordable at the time. Even Claridge was saying on the FLS that he could not believe the wages they were offering in the summer.
Believe me this is no wind up I just felt that people have done a lot to support and help PoorOldPompey, much more than they perhaps deserve, and I thought they were rubbing people's noses in it when they said they wanted to add to their squad immediately after going into administration. If Saints were struggling to fight off relegation I would be furious with the FL if they agreed to squad additions to a fellow struggler. The ten point deduction is an insult to those clubs who are struggling in the Championship because they have played by the rules. Interestingly after having posted this I read Rod Liddle in today's Sunday Times and he is in agreement with all the posters to this thread. As a grandfather I can tell you that with naughty children there comes a point when you will take no more nonsense and call an end to the misbehaviour and it is on to the naughty step they go until there is clear evidence of a change to good behaviour. PoorOldPompey should have been on that step for the last 18 months. What really worries me is they are like perpetual wrongdoers in that they never learn there their lesson. I defy any fan of PoorOldPompey to come on here and tell us a professional football club that has gone bust or into administration more times then they have.
You know...that kind of implies that you think we're all happy about this situation and want to go through it again...
I say we screw em, do what tottenham did to us.... Yes Forecast is an amazing prospect future England all yours FREE!! ......
No sentiment required here - they should be deducted 30 points and given a 15 point deduction to start next season.
Penalty should be 30 point deduction immediately followed by a 15 point deficit to start next season. Similar to what was given to Luton many years ago, however I think there might be backroom deals being made. I have a sneaky suspicion that the League governers have egg on their face with Pompey because they have had more owners than most of you have had pints. The league have clearly missed their own directive on ownership accreditation criteria, and due to the quantity and unsuitability of the recent Pompey owners they must recieve a severe penalty. My thoughts are not based on being a City supporter in any way, just on what is right.
