Just to all the people slating me on here like redwhitecomrade for your info I am not a plastic fan have been going to Saints matches for over 15 years now have been to over a hundred games in all divisions premier league, championship, went to virtually every home game when we were in League1 so dont start calling me a plastic fan!! The past year I have been ill and can only go to games if im feeling well on the day which means I cannot buy tickets in advance to games anymore asif Im too ill to go its a waste of mney so its been good that this seson there has been lots of coverage of Saints on tv! My thread was just stating the facts that it looks like the Pompey game is not on tv!! ffs wont bother psoting on here if all you get is abuse
Stupid post. How can you comment when you don't know the situation of someone else? I suppose if a Saints fan was someone who was a carer for someone else perhaps with a mental illness then they wouldn't be a loyal fan and be a plastic scumbag too? Idiot.
Well said. I was a season ticket holder until 18 months ago. Cost and poor health have succeeded in curtailing my trips this season. Last season I managed a few but health wise I am now unable to venture out for up to five hours at a time. Sad but doesn't stop me being a devoted Saints fan and never will.
This. To be honest, I'd rather not be on TV and us play the quality football we usually play, and hopefully batter them. Games where the stakes are too high, or are derbies will always let the neutral down.
SaintSimsy, there are a few posters on here who cannot help but descend into personal abuse and vitriol. There are also a few WUMs who will try and wind people up for fun. Don't stop posting, just put them on your ignore list, then you never have to read their rubbish ever again. On the question of "plastic" fans this subject really annoys me. There are some who critiscise because you can't get to every game, every year home and away. there are many of us who through finances, family life, location etc who get to whatever games they can. doesn't make you a worse fan because you haven't got the time or money to go to every game.
It's actually a mistake because I was misunderstood. I was actually an Arsenal fan....er, is that any better?
You are making generalisations there RAWC. As far as I can remember I and my friends went to every cup game (home legs) and every home league game. Yes I did go to Wembley. In general I am not always able to go to away games and wouldn't go to an away Pompey game out of choice. So some of us did go which kind of destroys your argument that "" Nobody Wanted to go"" Also does it really matter if some people didn't go to the home games but managed to get to Wembley. Just remember they wouldn't of got a Wembley ticket if they didn't have some sort of History with Saints or at the very least they wouldn't of got a ticket until all Saints fans with a History had got one. (Other than those that left it to the last minute of course) You accusation of plastic fans does not compute with me I'm afraid.
Fran - with the recent double standards of the Wenger brigade moaning about Fabregas et al then doing the same with Chamberlain - i am afraid it could be construed as being worse. Although - you did see the light in the end so im guessing all is forgiven!
The game can't be moved to the Sunday, as we play Crystal Palace away on the Monday, which I presume is Easter Monday.
That's an honest opinion I suppose, but in my eyes a misguided one, there are no grey areas here, you are either a Saints fan or you are not, no rules apply, no restrictions, no compromises, circumstances decide how you carry your support out, but it makes no difference. It's a bit like saying you aren't a true Christian as you don't go to church every Sunday.
People also seem to think that the same fans turn up to every game. If you discount the ST holders, the other 10,000 (?) are made up of lots of people coming to as many games as they can. It would be interesting to know how many people come to at least one game a season...I suspect it is a pretty large number which would explain all the people who went to Wembley. The mistake the club made was letting ST holders have 4 tickets each. I was allowed only 1 ticket for the FA Cup Final in Cardiff so couldn't even take my son.
