...Anyone off to see Elbow tomorrow night at the Arena?

Not footy related but what the hell. Should be epic!

Edit; OK then, It is slightly footy related, Shaka Hislop is their bass player...

Would love to be there AP but not gonna be possible. I'll have to catch them later on in the tour. Let us know how they do though, they are excellent live!

PS - what do you think of the new album? For me its not as immediate as Seldom Seen Kid, Leaders or Cast of Thousands, but is a real grower.

Aye you're right, it's a real grower. Absolutely love it, the more I listen to it the better it gets. Not gonna be as popular as Seldom Seen Kid and it's more epic/classical/chilled out than previous albums and nowhere near as poppy as Leaders Of The Free World. They're growing more and more unique with each album. I'll let you know how tonight goes, my mate saw them last night and said they were great but they didn't play anything from the first two albums.

Gonna have to tout them mate, I know someone who's been called into work and can't sell her ticket, they're still available on the door I think so it might be a bit of a bummer. Good luck though <ok>

Like you say they definitely like to do something a bit different each album. Did you see them on the Culture Show? They said they felt like the pressure to make a commercial album was off after success of Seldom so they made an album for themselves. Many of the lyrics are based on influences from their childhoods. Great album am loving it more with every play.

Look forward to hearing how the gig goes. Have a great time mate! :)
