One license per machine? I think you were had there, one of the whole points of steam is that you can play your games on any internet-enabled machine (capable of playing them) in the world. Should have been able to log in to your steam account on new computer and re-download it.

Finished my first season with a couple of weeks or so ago but not been back to it since as the Mrs bought me a PS3, finished 7th Xisco 3rd highest goalscorer in PL. Just played counter attack against most teams away from home and managed to grind out results.

Now if anyone can tell me the hell you can win the camper van race round the Top Gear circuit on Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 I'd be a happy man <laugh>

Ah right no problem, it's just it wasn't showing up in the sent items so I was wondering if it was sent across ok!

I've been tempted to get it for the iphone as it's £7, but I've heard it only lets you play through 30 seasons (not that I've ever gotten that far on the PC, but I've heard it goes faster on the mobile version), has anyone bought it?

This, Gameiro is a god for me, just finished 2nd in the league 2nd season and won the FA Cup, beating the Mackems in the final!

EDIT: Also buy Vaclav Kadlec if you want the game to last a few seasons, can get him for about 1.1mil and has just been labelled a wonderkid on mine.

My friend has it, although as far as I'm aware rarely plays it, but said it does go through a lot quicker, he got into his 2nd or 3rd season after not too long of playing it, and it wasnt even like he was on it all the time. (Not much help I know, but if you plan to play it a fair bit and stops you after 30 seasons that could be annoying as ****.)

New to fm like, and i'm pretty shocking ha. Though I'm gonna take all your tips and advice on here and run.
One thing...is it best for me to start with a team like Newcastle or shall I start lower league? Or somewhere in the middle?

It's up to you - can't really recommend a best way to play unless you've tried them all out yourself!
I like playing as realistic as possible and starting out from the bottom league up with only sunday league experience, but other's prefer taking the team they support to glory and so on!
If you're not that good I'd recommend the latter until you get to grips with things as being a LLAMA is tough work, especially since you're looking at stats at first that don't reach double figures (so you have to rely on your crappy scouts, crappy assistant manager and knowledge of what stats for what positions) and it takes a knack of getting used to!

The guidelines from the LLM forum on Sigames.com are as follows:

The Guidelines to playing an LLM game

The ideology behind playing LLM is to play a game as realistic as FM allows.

·This means doing it yourself, using your own mettle, succeeding or failing, but using no outside help.

·Outside help means anything not included in the game. This specifically includes "real life" knowledge. Just because "Wullie Hackum" is good in real life doesn't mean he'll be good in FM.

For this reason we rely heavily on the Scouts.

·We trust them. They may be rubbish, but they're all we've got for "first hand" experience.

·Players may be identified from media reports...and scouted, from games played against us...and scouted.

·No-one will be banned for scouring the transfer list, but it's generally frowned upon by LLM players. Players found that way would be scouted or trialled by the club, no manager in their right mind would sign a player based on a name on a list.

LLM doesn't mean leaving a team just because it's been promoted.

·A career should be followed like a real life one. Would a manager leave a club just because he's got it promoted? Maybe because another club comes in for him, but not because he's reached the Football League.

Start in the lowest possible division in any given nation

·Default leagues only. As the use of editors is not allowed in LLM, you can not start in a competition that has to be added via the editor
·This can mean the only division in the game (e.g. Wales)
·This does not mean The Championship, League 1 or League 2 in England - you should start in the Conference North or South, Conference Premier at a push.

There's an adage in LLM, "If you have to ask if you're cheating, then you very probably are"

·This is a good way to judge yourself whether what you're doing is LLM, just ask that question (regarding "cheating", signing players, scouting, looking at other teams) and think about what a real-life manager would or could do.

    Parent/Feeder Clubs

·Please note, although they seem to be allowed in the game, that in the Home Nations and Germany Parent/Feeder Clubs are specifically banned by the FAs (within and between UK Home Nations), all Clubs must be independent to compete in the Leagues and Cups. This isn't an LLM Rule this is real life.

LLM and the Tactical Tipping and Good Players Guide

·The LLM style of play is mutually exclusive to the use of Tactical Tipping and Good Players Guide fora. The ethos is completely different and is incompatible with those styles of playing. If you want to post in those fora, good luck to you but it's incompatible with posting in here.

    Starting Reputation

Most of us probably just default to "Automatic", but go with what's realistic for you. We aren't aware of any ex-international footballers posting on this forum as yet though.

If that sounds like the way you want to play then try it out, or even play a slight variation of it, but if not just play however you want to play :)!

Start with a big team that has plenty to spend, then you can perfect your tactics from there. I would say LLM is sort of a "hardest" setting and a big team with plenty of funds as "easy".

Aye I'm the same, keep alt-tabbing between my game and this forum!
I'd highly recommend signing up to the official forums http://community.sigames.com, as even if being a LLAMA isn't your thing, they have the other forums like the good player guide and tactical tipping.
Some of the kind people on there share their training and tactics on the forum, which helps you to get the gist of things if you reverse engineer them (and use a bit of footballing common sense) - it's what I used to do before I started playing LLM.
Plus there's FAQS for nigh on everything regarding the game.

It's nigh on impossible with the camper vans on the Top Gear track!!

Not even guzzling Southern Comfort at 3am driving with one eye open helped..

The game is already doing my box in, after 10,000 attempts at camper van I switched to the Nascar school and almost ended up beheading my mrs and kids as a way of relieving the stress caused by trying to get the car to stay between the yellow line and cones on the Daytona course.

Ben Arfa is such a dick on FM 2011

"Hi you wanted to speak with me"

"I'm pleased with how you've been playing lately, keep it up!"

"Well, I don't think I've perfomed that well and I don't deserve that praise"

"I disagree but I didn't mean to anger you"

"I'm going to leave now before I say something I may regret"

    ****ing idiot.
