It just goes to show that it is only football which divides us. Some of my fellow Saints' choices baffle me, whilst some Pompites have (in my opinion) jolly good taste! (Shame they can't transfer this discerning streak to football)
Your first two choices could be seen as a bit obvious, but it's nice to see something a little esoteric in there too. I agree, it's a very good album.
Red hot chilli peppers-blood sugar sex magic Moby-play Orbital-snivilisation Leftfield-leftism Jeff Mills-live at the liquid rooms KLF- Chillout Elbow- build a rocket Fat freddys drop-a true story Musical score from requiem for a dream
The first one is better....I just wanted an excuse to post this
Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not - Arctic monkeys Noel Gallagher's high flying birds new album
Hey, come one, I'm a wee bairn compared to most of you lot. Even Live At Leeds would be considered 'out there' by some of my friends.
For all the Coldplay fans. Recognise this? I heard a song by Coldplay on the radio at work and thought to myself, what's the game here? Did they copy this on purpose, was it a coincidence or just downright burglary.
Guns-n-Roses Crazy horses The beach boys Adam Faith Marty Wild Bill Hayley Ok I know am showing me age......
There was a feature on kraftwork on 6 music the other day, Coldplay had to approach them to ask to use it!
I should jolly well think so. They must have liked it then. I think the most ground breaking track though, on that LP was Numbers. That must have been one of the biggest influences on what followed a few years later. 1.eins 2.zwei 3.drei 4.vier 5.fünf 6.sechs 7.sieben 8.acht
You are right there Reub. A generation ahead of their time. Only Yellow Magic Orchestra could hold a candle to them, in their heyday. IMHO, of course.
Good choices, don't really listen to hip hop even though I have a fairly eclectic taste, but I give anything ago, Illmatic is clearly held in high regard (as are the other two albums), I did a little research.
Agents of Fortune - Blue Oyster Cult Fire of Unknown Origin - Blue Oyster Cult Modern Times - Latin Quarter Temperamental - Divinyls Graceland - Paul simon The wall - Pink Floyd Buisness as usual - Men at work . High Infidelity - REO Speedwagon . Voulez Vous - ABBA All of Stevie Nicks !!!!! and many many more
Not one of my favourites though still very good. Stuff like Sulk drags it down for me - but then Street Spirit is one of my favourite overall.
Oh OK. Try them with Chips From The Chocolate Fireball by The Dukes of Stratosphear for out there-ness..! EDIT: Or perhaps Angel's Egg/The Flying Teapot/Invisible Radio Gnome by Gong. That's... well, it's almost dangerous to say.
