It's a thought that popped into my head earlier on. In the summer, we should sell everyone (i mean it). Fire all the coaches, pray Usmanov buys more shares. We should assemble an all new squad, backed by Russian money, and our already large (yet relatively untouched) transfer budget. This isn't a question of bringing in a few new signings, this is a total re-do of Arsenal. This batch of players are clearly not good enough, hence our recent foray into mediocrity. What happened to our reputation for excellence? What happened to doing things "The Arsenal way?"

I know some of you will think "hang on, he's talking about selling Jack, The Ox, Szczesny etc, so he must be delusional." To be fair, they are good players, but they are part of the problem. They are good by our current standards. Jack seems to be permanently attached to an exogen (bone repair) machine, Ox is inconsistent, and Sczczesny can be frustrating. I don't see them getting into other top sides. it shows how far we've fallen.

    Silly idea.

If you bought a whole new squad, you're basically writing the season off because they'd need a long time to adapt mentally and tactically to the league and to eachother. Also, who would be captain?

We just need to ship off our deadwood like Liverpool did last year (though they went and bought more deadwood, ironically). Our best players have no pressure because nobody is on the bench ready to take their place if they under-perform.

We bought a whole new team this season and proves it can be done and while you will say "yeah but your in league 1" well we can only beat whays infront of us and only with the players we can attract while being in league 1!

Nothing wrong with league 1 mate. Look at The Ox and Jenks for us, both from league 1, both seem at home in the PL. I'm sure i read that Powell has signed more players in 18 months than most managers do in 3 years. We should try that.

(Thanks for Jenkinson by the way)

There is substantial deadwood that needs to be shipped out. I am also of the opinion that new coaches are needed, in fact more badly than new players. We need coaches for every type of position. This seems to be the norm today.

  6. Its a major rebuilding effort that is needed.

Certainly the coaching staff should be fired, and the medical team, in addition to those involved in transfer negotiations.

I would add a significant trimming of the admin staff - which has grown by nearly 100% in 5 years.

In terms of players, there are 16 that should be sold and three demoted from the first team - I listed these on another thread.
