I think (starting to lose count) this will be my 27th season of following F1 and of those years, only 4 of them have seen me being able crack open the champagne after the driver I support brings home the title. The other 24 have either been "Meh" or "Anguish"... so one more can't hurt I guess. I'd have thought that with all your years of watching F1, you'd be immune to the anguish Bernie. I sometimes wonder why we bother with sport... Unless you're a glory hunter or just happen to be a true supporter of the greats, then sport is mostly pain and suffering. Sod this.... I think I'm going to join yoush all in getting plashtered. Hic!
You want pain and suffering? Try being a gooner. Far more painful than your fave driver losing the title.
LOL... Well, it could be worse I guess. All you have to do is wait for all the rich Arabs and Russians to bugger off and the rest of the Premiership to go bankrupt and you'll be on top for decades.
awww you poor goons! BTT: F1 can be a heartbreaker.. Hungary 97? Brazil 08? (if you wanted massa to win) yet it can be euphoria too! Mansell 92? Hill 96? EDIT: ohhh post 4000! <<<
Footie teams are constantly in existence(unless you spend 5 gazilion quid on some fat pants lazzy b'stard and your whole team goes bankrupt). Fans of drivers only get a finite number of years to cheer them on. 23 years of "Pffft" means I must be quite devoted to this silly sport. **** knows why
Well I'm a few hours ahead of you over here and mine's just starting to set in but you have given me an idea: hair of the dog
http://www.planet-f1.com/driver/18227/7529496/-McLaren-duo-not-as-good-as-Vettel- Benson's going to flip his lid! Again!
Just getting me first bottle of the evening open, time to start over again. As for spells of euphoria, longer gaps between them than the lengthy periods of anguish, you'd think we would know better, but when it happens !!!!!!! just remembering Lewis's first title, what an end to a season, Eh. Did feel sorry for Massa's Dad though.
pfft, Gooners have no idea about pain and suffering at all. 'oh, boo hoo we havn't won a top cup for 7 years' try not winning **** all for 30+, having the finest youth players in the land (we had 7 in the England squad, and I mean home grown, not kidnapped from Africa), that always get sold on due to poor boardroom decisions, regardless who is in charge up top. My favourite driver never won a race, got a couple of 3rds, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the sport at all, my team doesn't play in the EPL, but that doesn't take away my enjoyment of football, the only thing that takes away my enjoyment of sport is the blatant cheating that escapes any sort of punishment or censure, and is almost actively encouraged, just as long as the organisation in charge receives its £. ha, he is no less than they deserve, he makes Sam Allardyce's football seem 80's Brazilian.
