cant disagree with you there bud ,
--- wenger moulds average players into great players that the board then sell to pay for the new stadium --

Realistically, where do you expect to finish? Manchester City and Man Utd are streets ahead of you and with Chelsea's spending power once they change manager they will be ahead of you. You have to acknowledge times are changing and you will be fighting for 4th-6th every season now with Tottenham and Liverpool. Wenger does need to go as he seems to have taken the club forward as far as possible and has now hit a brick wall and gone stale, if you lose Van Persie this summer and this looks like a real possibility as he's starting to look disillusioned now then you will be in the s**t. Accept you are not a major force in the country anymore (this is the 1st time I can ever remember Arsenal coming to Sunderland and we fully expected to beat you) and will probably hover about the top 6 every season like liverpool and hope to compete for a cup.

This isn't having a go it is constructive if anything and a neutral view <ok>

lot of commonsense in your post bud -- with the limited resources that wenger has at his disposal he probally has taken the club as far as it can go -

i personally admire him for sticking it out this long with nothing in the pot to spend at arsenal ,
would not surprise me if he goes to real madrid next year as they are after him ,the lure of turning RM into the no 1 team over barcalona with proper money to spend may be too much for him to resist -

  4. Crikey, what utter **** you write.............. bud.

You've already been told our wage bill is one of the highest in world football...... bud

Its more or less the same as Man Utd's........ bud

For the wages we pay, we should be able to have players that can the basics right......... bud.

The money aregument is just an excuse, we used to win titles whilst having half the revenue of Utd....... bud

There can be no justification for charging the highest ticket prices in the league and not having a transfer budget to match. Allowing Cesc and Samir to go and pocketing the money instead of buying replacements is scandalous.

United, City and Chelsea aside we should at least be matching what L'pool and Spurs do. AW for whatever reason, over the last four years has failed to keep up with the Jones'.

  6. Now that we are out of three competitions I wonder how much focus will be forthcoming for that final CL spot. If we end this season in the same manner as we did the last, we can kiss goodbye to just about everything. Welcome to Mediocrity. Your host for this event being Arnsene Wenger, Ivan Gazidis and Stan Kroenke. :emoticon-0149-no:

  8. Given the complete lack of mental strength in our team - did anyone else spot how we collapsed as soon as Coquelin got injured - we are in serious trouble in the league. Big games coming up.

I posted a week ago that we were entering a key phase of the season and that I was worried because we always collapse under pressure - which we did again.

I just cannot see this team being anywhere near strong enough to win in a tense battle for 4th in the last 10 games of the season.

I have to admit, i was totally wrong about the Milan result and i really thought we would bonce back and bring it on at Sunderland. Im just shocked at how this team has capitulated so early on in the season. What is even more worrying is we got soundly beaten by Milan resembling what i would call a first team! I mean, even against Sunderland, we had all our attacking players yet couldn't score. Even with the magnificance of RVP cannot dig this Arsenal side out of this quagmire. I thought we would struggle without RVP, but he's been injury free and on form for the whole season!!!

  10. Questions need to be asked of this team as to how much they want to win. Bar a handful of players it seems the spirit is so lacking.

bottom line is ----- bud , wenger does not have the same money to spend as the big clubs --- bud ,

until he does have the same money to spend --- bud , how is he expected to compete with the big clubs ------ bud

fraid to say money is the bottom line ---------- bud , if you have a bottomless pit of it as man u ,chelsea , man city have you will win major silverware because you can afford to buy £30 million worldclass superstars ---------- bud

if like arsenal and wenger you dont have a bottomless pit then you cant compete with clubs that do have a bottomless pit --------- bud

its just a simple law of economics and not rocket science ------- bud

    do you savvy ------ bud , bud , bud , bud ------

  13. No.... bud... i dont savvy.

What part of "We spend almost as much as Utd on wages and far less than Spurs" do you not comprehend.....bud.

You need to go back to economics school and leave the football to people who know what they are talking about.

  14. Well the stadium debt is being handled AFAIK and nothing is out there which suggests we are not on top of it.

That we are not matching our rivals ( except when they gift us by messing up ) is down to the bad running of a football team. This in turn has it's many avenues, lack of strategy and tactical awareness, poor management of resources resulting in good players not being brought in and poor ones being kept on, a poor injury record that is not addressed, a lack of team motivation which leads to poor team spirit and mental strength. In short, we have problems everywhere and it all boils down to bad management at ground and board level. However, we do have a sustainable model..... for now.

  15. The stadium debt costs us £14m a year - easily managed. Our bud just doesnt understand what he is talking about. But he's a good bud, so we'll let him off.

maybe i am missing something here -- arsenal have just built one of the best stadiums in the world and have been paying back major sums to meet the repayments for several years -

do you really think we can meet those repayments and still afford to buy a squad of world class superstars as the big 3 clubs have done that would allow us to compete with the big boys -

no money equals no world class superstars equals no silverware ------

----- its not rocket science ---

  20. Bud, the repayments are £14m a year and whilst paying back the debt we have managed to build a cash pile of almost £200m - thats cash in the bank. I do think, as you say, you are missing something , bud.
