Well, all I can say is this man has got passion!! I really do believe he will get us promoted, if not this season then definitely next, although he feels promotion is still achievable with the way teams above and around us keep dropping points. His tactical sounbites alone were so far ahead of Grayson's cliched bumblings, and he immediately pointed out things the players were doing wrong. One thing for sure is its not going to be dull with Colin in charge. He is clearly proud to have landed the Leeds job, and he does rate the club as massive and he wants to have a real go at success with the Whites. This hunger and desire will make a big difference with the players, and we should see a lift in performances going forward. Nice to have a proper football man in charge now, hopefully we can kick on for the rest of the season. Great result today, great appointment, the gloom has been lifted for now. Going to enjoy a nice bottle of wine tonight.
He's a very shrewd chap and I'm sure he'll win the fans over. His comments about the fans got my approval straight away.... "I want to be the man who is able to deliver this for a set of fans who never cease to amaze me with their numbers and loyalty."
Don't have a link Simon but it will be replayed on Yorks Radio tomorrow at 6pm I believe, check the web site. Sure someone will have a recording linked at some point.
On Sky Sports News after showing the goals. Much happier now we have the twat removed and Warnock in.
I found a youtube link for the interview - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2iLHFVqipk&feature=player_embedded
One thing that I could criticse Warnock for is his tactics at times. In the PL he got found out tbh, and we rarely looked like we had any! But in the NPC there were no problems in that respect. He probably isnt a PL manager, but one who can definatley do what is required at NPC level.
Must say I'm very impressed. "And when you've got someone like Becchio who wins every header, and trust me next 15 games he will do"
Great interview. What he said about Snodgrass playing in the hole, about us having 3 players back when attacking, Becchio winning headers and the little things he's seen. Very exciting from now till the end of the season. Good comments about the fans too. This is our most exciting managerial appointment of recent years.
I actually was very impressed with that interview. Unlike grayson he actually gave insight into what he was thinking should be changed and what he actually said. He's right about snodgrass as well which is what I have always said would be snoddy's natural positional evolution given his lack of pace and his ability to pick out beautiful passes
Morning all. Missed the interview live, but great to get it now. Will now be very interesting to see us against Portsmouth. We would have expected to get something anyway. But as the warm up for the games against Saints & Hammers, it will be interesting to see the changes after a week's training with the man
Not going to have a go at grayson because he was never going get it right with bates there. Don't like warnock, but will back him 100%. Agree with one thing, his interviews aren't going to be dull. Hope he can work with the bearded one. Anyway here's to another interesting chapter in the life of a Leeds United fan.
Grayson's interviews got so boring and repetitive. We kept hearing the same things "They aren't doing what we tell them to in training", "individual mistakes" "blah, blah, blah". Warnock has said it how it is, that we are far away from being a top side. Very exciting to see how the team changes in the next few weeks.
Very excited with Warnock in charge - if anyone can sort out our defence it is him! Just hoping he'll be able to convince White/Clayton/McCormack/Snoddy to sign new deals now! (unlikely, but a guy can hope right...)
