Hoping for a WHU win tomorrow to keep us in 4th. If they play like this next week they will get stuffed.
I think most folks know we need to be able to rest some of the guys but we just do not have strength in depth to allow it
First half it sounded like we were well in control until the 1st goal, the second half has been an unmitigated disaster! Tired legs?
and we have 8 games in March, and 6 in April. They wont be able to rest then either. We desperately need a few loan players.
Have we run out of steam or have other teams worked out our system and know how to combat it. A lot of people complained of a lack of plan B last season, maybe Malky needs a rethink.
Sorry lads but we can't expect to go to Portman Road and roll over a team in such good form.Too many underestimated the opposition. Totally agree though that we are running out of steam with a lot of games to go.
on gilette soccer saturday they said we started brightly and then ipswich took over and controlled the game, any opinions from any people who listened to it on the radio etc?
Sounds about right Swamp. I know a commentary doesn't get it across as well as seeing a game but it sounded if we ran out of ideas and steam.
I very much hope (and jsut about believe) that this is related to our 'distraction' and that there's nothing more serious going on. Let's get the cup out of the way; here's hoping that our confidence won't be damaged by a pasting because if that happens we can say goodbye to a playoff place as well. Brum, Reading, Blackpool all playing with confidence whereas we seem to have lost it. THe boys need an 'arm around' as much as a kick up the arse at the moment but three out of twelve poss is not good at all.
there was no chance of the players holding back for the final, people were always going to say we had one eye on the final if we lost, thats the default excuse, but people like cowie, turner etc, all stated that they'd rather win games in the championship than win in the league cup final, turner said something like getting to the premiership will do far more for his career than winning a cup, which is a good attitude to have, though it would be the stuff of dreams if we did win the cup...

I think with the way we play the players are now not lasting the pace. We need fresh faces but we cant recklessly spend like in the past. A few out in the summer and a few in and we will go forward. I think one big effort next week could still see the first major trophy this season heading to S Wales.
I'm backing Cardiff for the cup, since you lost the last one to bloody Pompey and it's better for football if the npc side wins.. sure Bellamy will be up for it though!
