Davis 7 - made some good saves but had very little to do Harding 7 - Again was very calm and played very well at RB Fonte 6 - did well, quiet first half Hooiveld 6 - again very good, another goal and a great leader at the back Fox 8 - 3 assists and did not put a foot wrong, excellent game Chaplow 7 - very good game, put himself about well Cork 7 - played well, passed the ball well Schneiderlin 6 - good passer, was looking a bit clumsy at times in my opinion Lallana 8 - back to his best! Superb skills, passing and moving! Sharp 5 - hmmm, poor game, didn't get involved Lambert 8 - despite not scoring he did so much for the team. Excellent! Subs: Martin 7 - I was nervous but he proved me wrong by scoring and making some vital interceptions Lee 8 - exactly what we needed. Pace up front and got his reward with a great goal Puncheon 6 - looked confident in his short amount of time
Kelvin Davis - 8, Solid when called upon Dan Harding - 7, Looked uncomfortable but put in a good shift Jose Fonte - 8, Solid at the back Jos Hooiveld - 7, Good header and solid as always Danny Fox - 9, Got a hat-trick of assists, just as good as goals for me Richard Chaplow - 7, Lacking match fitness Morgan Schneiderlin - 8, Awesome player, really getting stuck in now Jack Cork - 8, Shot for once in a good attacking display Adam Lallana - 9 MOTM, Vintage Lallana, this was the Football Leagues best player on show today Billy Sharp - 7, had something niggling at him today but did ok Rickie Lambert - 8, A pest to Derby and did well Aaron Martin - 8, Great for him to get a goal and was defensively solid Tadanari Lee - 8, What a goal! Jason Puncheon - 7, Looked bright and lively Thoughts? Post your ratings below.
Jos 8 minimum Morgan was sublime today 9 minimum apart from that agree the whole team were superb today.
Davis - 8 Harding - 6 Fonte - 7 Hooiveld - 7 Fox - 8 MOTM Chaplow - 6 Cork - 7 Morgan - 8 Lallana - 8 Sharp - 7 Lambert - 7
Also thought sharp was good not brilliant but good, made good runs and always looked to get on the end of Lamberts flick ons 5 is very harsh.
Harding was dreadful. I mean TERRIBLE. Is this a joke? Ratings of 7? He was playing WAY too high the whole game. The first 20 minutes he was 25-30 yards out of position the whole time and they'd hit long balls behind him from midfield. It looked like we were playing 3 at the back without a RB. Ridiculously poor defending. He constantly let the player he was 'marking' get goal side of him all game. Which is why before the first goal Derby were dominant. He was also woeful in attack as well. Davis 8 - Safe as houses Harding 2 - Awful Fonte 8.5 - Did great covering across for Harding was covering 2 positions for a lot of the game Hoovield 8.5 - Similar to Fonte really, at times left alone at CB as Fonte shifted to RB. They both did a great job covering the idiocy of Harding Fox 8 - Great corners, good pass to Lallana. Only OK defensively or would have scored higher. Cork 9 Morgan 9 - Morgan and Cork were excellent today, provided great cover, contested 50-50s well and passed the ball well. They share my MOTM. Chaplow 5 - Off the pace completely at times..but it's understandable he's coming back from a long lay-off Lallana - 8.5 Lambert - 7 Sharp - 5 - Very frustrating today. Every time he got the ball we went backwards.. Lee - 8.5 - Full of energy and commitment Martin - 8.5 - Solid in defence and grabbed a goal Puncheon - 7
I thought several players had great games today and the ratings I gave reflect that. Harding was dreadful and it shouldn't be overlooked. He was completely inept
Agreed, he was absolutely pitiful. Sharp had a poor game and Chaplow looked short of match fitness, but everyone else was absolutely superb. Fantastic team goal for the 3rd and what a goal by Tadanari Lee!! I think we're going to win the league - we're better than West Ham.
Also no offence to the OP but scoring Harding higher than Fonte and Hoovield is embarrassing and shows a complete lack of knowledge in the game. Fonte and Hoovield did brilliant to cover Harding time and again during the game. Martin the same when he came on. This isn't a matter of opinion, anyone with any knowledge will find this laughable. And scoring Chaplow, who was completely off the pace today returning from injury higher than Morgan who had a great game makes me wonder if this person was even at the game. It makes me wonder how these people find themselves on a football forum LOL
Exactly. Lee was great, full of life and brilliant goal. I hope he starts against Watford. We're definitely better than West Ham head to head and very strong at home, but we need to turn our away form around if we're going to win the league (or come 2nd)!
