Good move or not.......if it happens? HARTLEPOOL United are pondering a loan move for Sunderland striker Ryan Noble. Pools manager Neale Cooper has watched his side draw a blank in their last two games, and is desperate for a prolific goalscorer. Noble, 20, has found the net regularly at youth and reserve level, and is desperate to get another loan club after a frustrating spell at Derby County ended earlier this week with the striker having featured just twice. Hartlepool are aware of his position and are mulling over a move for him in the next few days, but Martin OâNeill says he will let Nobleâs feet touch the ground first before sending him straight back out. âTo be fair, both Ryan Noble and Trevor Carson have just got back this week, and I havenât really had the chance to talk to them just yet,â said the Sunderland manager. âIâll let them catch their breath and then weâll sit down and talk about where they might go.â Sunderland-born Noble insists that that he leaves Pride Park with no hard feelings, despite his lack of minutes on the pitch. âI have enjoyed my time at Derby,â he said. âThey are a great club and the boss, Nigel Clough, has been excellent with me.â âWith other players now coming back into the picture, it looks better that I move on. âI am now back to full fitness and just want to be playing football.â Clough said of Noble: âHe has been great to have around the place, and weâre as frustrated as him that his chances were limited during the month. âRyan has been really unlucky and he goes back to Sunderland with our very best wishes. Weâd like to thank Martin OâNeill for allowing him to spend some time with us.â Goalkeeper Carson, meanwhile, is back at Sunderland after the end of his month-long loan with Hull City, where he failed to make a single appearance.
Feel sorry for Carson; he was playing regularly wherever he was before (can't remember) then he was recalled. Sat on the bench for a couple weeks. Then went to Hull where he never played! As for Noble, as long as we know he'll be playing regularly send him out, but of he's gonna be used as a back-up, there's no point.
very good move if it happens, they also have another whizz kid playing for them down their that came through their own ranks i believe
We've said this a few times Billy... Forge closer ties with the likes of Hartlepool......it could benefit both clubs massively.....and good for the region.
I said this on another thread, give him to pool till the end of the season and see how it goes. No point in him going to the championship and sitting on the bench
a lot of the academy lads experienced the harsh side of football last week and were told the were being let go. Some of these kids have been on Sunderland's books since they were 7 year olds. Apparently if they are not going to be good enough to be in the first team squad then the club don't want them. Best of luck lads..............
Some of the lads had been out on loan so hopefully lower league clubs will be sniffing about them, others have academic careers planned - thats the good thing about the academy, so much more than just football, football, football - they have a plan B in case football cannot provide a career. I have watched a fair few games. many of them are good footballers and you can see why the have been at the SAFC Academy, however its not good for anyone, if they are not Premier class they need to move on so we can accommodate the next uptake. Lets just hope the same maxim is applied to the senior squad.
