Careful, she could be an 18st, 54-year old truckdriver called Vernon.

    Age - 57
Work - for many years, worked on overseas assignments in Risk Management for one of the big accountancy firms (I'm not an accountant), but now work from home and it's great to have a bit more time on my hands
Started supporting QPR in 1968 but didn't get to see them play until 1971. I remember it was the New Year's day fixture at LR and the pitch was fogged over. It was impossible to see from one side of the pitch to the other widthwise, let alone the length of the pitch. A match would never go ahead in those conditions now. But at the time, it was fascinating for me, because all these players I'd been following avidly in the tabloids, sticking pictures on my wall - Rodney Marsh, Mick Leach, the Morgan Brothers etc - kept appearing out of the mist for a few seconds and then disappearing in again. Really quite mystical. I have no memory of the score. I'm not sure many people knew at the time!

Went to quite a few games in the 70's and as many as I could get to in the 80's. Took up a season ticket in the early 90's just before we made the drop to the second tier, and been a regular attender ever since.

    Hi Copenhagen
Nice to meet you too. There are two of us that are different! We could start a thread about knitting and pink things and fluffy kittens (oooops forgot I am an 18st 54 year-old-truck driver called Vernon)

Have given it 5 minutes serious thought and my vote is Faurlin....but any minute now we are going to get told off for discussing mens bums on a serious intellectual website....so I will return to my Vernon alter-ego and remark my favourite team of the afternoon Bolton are now two up...come on (in the cup) Bolton

Statistics show that knitting pink fluffy things is the favourite current pastime of 18 st, 54 year old truck drivers, called Vernon! <ok> !

Nice to "meet" both of you! <rose> <rose>

I fear that an 18st, 54 year old truckdriver called Vernon, who is also vociferous exponent of knitting pink fluffy things, may also have a fascination for men's bums (footballers or otherwise).

Been away in Llangollen for a few days and missed some good threads by the look of it.

    Sooperhoop is 57 years old
30 years as a Facilities Manager but being made redundant next month
Born in St. Mary's and lived early years in Cosway Street, Marylebone
Moved to Brixton just as I started school and spent 30 years there moving out via Waterford, Eire then Peckham, Sydenham and now South Norwood
Married for the second time last April and have one daughter and three grandchildren
Supported the Hoops since 1966, saw my first match in Oct 1968, QPR 2 Man U 3. Memorable for the fact I went to see the game without telling my Mum, I walked from Brixton to Stockwell tube station (this was before there was underground in Brixton) got the tube to the match and back and afterwards walked back to Brixton from Stockwell as my 2s 6d pocket money was all used up. I arrived home at 7.00pm only to find the neighbours had been sent out to find me and Mum was going up the wall. When I showed her the match programme I bet they heard her rant over in West London, she wasn't amused. My Dad got home from work later and thought it was brilliant I'd worked it all out for myself. My only memory of the actual match was seeing Bobby Charlton who was a hero of mine from the World Cup...
