I was under the impression this thread was about discussing an alternative or betterment to the independent panel - which we were doing quite nicely until .... Yep, that's what i intended. As for the 'let it lie' school, that's your perrogative. Just don't join in continuing threads about it. As has been more eloquently defined on here than I put over (and with a lot less bile and invective towards the FA and Man Utd) the case has far reaching ramifications that won't go away. A man has been dragged through the mire for 'flavour-of-the-monthism' and the actual cause of anti-racism has not been furthered in the long-term one jot: unless you are a black man with a grudge in need of favourable mechanisms to get one over on an opponent who has humiliated you. As John Barnes has stated, this doesn't actually do the cause of anti-racism 9or the plight of genuinely racially abused minorities in our society) ant good whatsoever. And it also constituted more racial discrimination in the treatment of Suarez by the FA than he unintentionally did to St Evra. So no, just because you couldn't actually be arsed to read the full 115 pages of the report and just relied on reading the summary (as did the overwhelming majority of Fleet St hacks (why oh why won't they do a special phone-in edition of Sunday Supplement so we can test Lawton's, Samuel's, Holt's et al actual knowledge of the 'irrefutable' report?) doesn't mean that those of us who did shouldn't be allowed to comment on it. And one day I'd love to see that 'Nationally respected' QC Goulding held to account too - I think Micheal Howard might just be the one to do it. On that point, much as I'm no bloody Tory, wouldn't Liverpool do better getting rid of McCormicks and those two dippy solicitors that woefully represented us and appointing a Liverpool-supporting QC such as Howard to the board?
If Terry is found not guilty in a court of law can the FA still find him guilty in their own right with their own inquiry into the incident?
donga I've found just the man - http://www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk/barristers/courtenay_griffiths_qc.cfm
donga I've found just the man - http://www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk...iffiths_qc.cfm Yes, he looks almost too good to be true (his cv that is, not his colour - WHICH IS IRRELEVANT!). Seriously, this is want Fenway should be looking at. But I still say f00k the London-based press and sucking up to them. If you are truly a Liverpool fan you shouldn't need convincing, and if you're not your opinon is irrelevant anyway.
Its the FA, and as they have shown they can do whatever the **** they want. I wouldn't be too sure. If there is no proof he said it at all then Chelsea's lawyers would have a field day if the FA applied the same standards of 'evidence' as they did against Suarez. If his defence is he DID say it but there was no intent his defence is precisely the same as Suarez's and if the FA didn't act I should imagine Liverpool's lawyers would be the ones having a field day - if they have any good ones by then.
If you are truly a Liverpool fan you shouldn't need convincing, and if you're not your opinon is irrelevant anyway. That's not you personally Johnson's, btw, but a cover-all statement to all worldwide reds and this self-fulfilling prophecy that the London media are bullying us with that if we don't roll over and lick the crusty bits from Ferguson's 40% proof ringpiece (and sell Suarez forthwith, d'accord) then we're all racists who eat innocent black babies in our scouse pies.
Didn't take it personally for one minute, saw it as a general statement btw I googled 'Liverpool supporter QC' and that guy is the only one that came up (I didn't go looking) With regard to the FA and Terry if you check their website this - Further to the announcement by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) today [21 December] regarding the allegation against John Terry following the Queens Park Rangers v Chelsea fixture on Sunday 23 October 2011, The Football Association will not be making any comment at this time.
