    That's great!

I remember being way at the back of the top tier, about on halfway - so in the leadup to the 2nd goal, you see a great shot of the stands - I'm somewhere there, way at the back!

****! Trust you Woody you big mouth failed goalie you!!

Been a bit work-bound this week and just popped on to see what's gwaanin... This friggin' thread's a bit more-ish innit? Great read about some fascinating people.

S'pose I should pay my fare with a bit about me...

Look, feel and happy to be a 57 year old white Brixtonian and well proud part of a mixed race family. 29 year old son's me best mate (more R than he realises) and works alongside me as a **** hot manager in south London's biggest minicab firm - off Garratt Lane, Wandsworth (watching you Scotland!). Fact him and me started in the company on the same day back in 2007 was a massive buzz.

Impressionable years spent in County Kilburn... Been a devoted R since 67, a month or two before we won the League cup at Wembley and got promoted. With England having won the WC the year before, you can't blame me for thinking life was gonna be a bed of roses... duh!!

Attended every home game and quite a few away for years after that - till life kicked in in earnest.

That'll do ya - but thanks again for a terrific read.

Trust me I’m not the voice of Authority but my take on our ‘African Connection’ is that Taiwo and Diakite are solid acquisitons to the squad.
Taiwo has been around a while I first saw him play at the 2006 African Cup of Nations when he scored the winner in a 1-0 win over Ghana, in thier opening game.Think he quite young back then about 20.

If I remember correctly he even scored in a penalty shoot out in the quarter finals, so not scared under pressure...either that or was just a naive youngster. A solid, solid defender and as you guys have seen is built like a brick …..!! He’s quick, very good shot on him.. think he needs time to adapt to the English style of play….the one thing that everyone has to understand is that the English game is at a completely different pace to other leagues around the world, it takes even the best players by surprise…it takes them time to adapt…But the one thing Rangers haven’t got is time for him to bed in he’s going have to do it quickly.

Diakite, I have only seem a few times prior to the 2012 African Nations Cup, in which I thought he was a quite good, doesn’t seem to get knocked off the ball can tackle and can also be a little bit naughty in the tackle but most importantly can hold and distribute the ball and again has a bit of pace..He was linked with quite a few clubs in the summer, Borussia Dortmund/ Schalke I read somewhere were interested in him…will have to wait and see I’m afraid..(just being honest !)

As for the Asian side of things…well the East Asian standard of football is not at the same level as the European game. At International level I would say that most players would struggle to get into a Championship team..There are a few hidden gems, that will make it through but in Malaysia and India, the game is just too weak. Back in the late 90’s or early 00’s our previous manager Mr Warnock, gave Indian National team captain Bhaichung Bhutia an opportunity at Bury…Bhutia went back to India after a couple of seasons and claimed that Indian standard of football was at about League 1 level, and Indians would struggle to make it in the big league. QPR were linked to Sunil Chhetri a couple of seasons ago and he went to the MLS with Kansas City and returned to India after a season without playing a game.
From Malaysia Moh’d Safee Moh’d Sali is the current star of the National team, whether he can be the first South East Asian to make it in the big leagues we’ll have to wait and see…

Football in Malaysia and India, doesn't need the exposure of TV they have that already with overseas leagues what they need are solid professional leagues....The Indian's are trying an experiment with an Indian Premier League, where 6 teams will play a mini league system similar to the IPL cricket league where players are auctioned off... players like Fabio Cannavaro, Robbie Fowler, Robert Pires, Jay Jay Okocha are the icon players..hell even Peter Reid and John Barnes have been auctionedf off as team coaches..all the teams are based around the Bengal area as that is where football is most popular in India..if it takes off it will take football to another level in India but its a big if..

FAO QPR Matt, LOL. All secrets safe with me. Besides, everyone on this thread seems to be totally self- insightful, not much call for my help required. Besides, you know where I live, more work here than we can cope with! LOL

    Cheers 74, much appreciated <ok>

To witness that goal must have been great. And against the scum, in HOOPS! <laugh> <party>

I've witnessed some of Adel's brilliance, but unfortunately I was to young to see Falco live.

Are you driving a road train Robin? Hitched a lift in one near Esperance in Western Aus a very long time ago. What I didn't realize was that I could only get out when the driver was going to slow down anyway (top of a hill or at a junction) as it takes so long to get up to speed! So had a 3 mile walk following the truck after drop off ......shouldn't complain though as it was a 500 mile lift, and gave me an entire education in country AND western ('we have both kinds of music').

Dam, missed the boat with that quote!

    Age :32
Sex: Sorry, married to a beautiful Texan
    Location: Houston, Texas
    Job: bartender

I used to run a few pubs in London - the Coat and Badge (Fulham pub) The Kings Head (Gooner pub), the East Hill in Wandsworth for those that live there, and was assistant manager at the Bull in Westfield just before moving over here.... the closest I've ever come to working in a Rangers pub.

Originally from Basingstoke, I started out following Liverpool, until my mates started taking me to Loftus Road - I figured it's better to support a team you can actually go and watch!
