Newcastle have become good because of the French Player influx. Let's get some of Germany's talent at the club - The German National team is the best in the world IMO. Matt Hummels - 15m Mario Goetze - 50m Thomas Muller - 30m Lukas Podolski - 20m Huge outlay but worth it, after selling the deadwood that should cost us around £70m, we have that in the bank and then some!
Indeed we do - a net outlay of £70m is very easily achievable - getting the players to come to a sinking ship though is the real challenge...
Well, Podolski would be moving to a bigger club. Hummels and Goetze would as well. Bayern are probably better than us but after seeing his 3 compatriots move I think Muller would come her as well. They're all ****ing geniuses, by the way, especially Thomas Muller.
I doubt it would happen with Wenger at the Helm. Being pessimitic and thinking about reality sucks. A net outlay of £70m isn't even that much compared to what we have. And this would appease the fans hugely. As you can see from my squad it would make our team much better.
Why would Muller leave Bayern for Arsenal? Klopp signed a new long term contract. Podolski and Van Persie in the same team will not work. Goetze is not worth £50 Mil. It would be idiotic to spend that much on one player when you can use money like that to fix more problem positions AND get an attacking midfielder.
Hummels and Goetze yes! both would be ideal. Podolski is the most realistic option though. Muller would'nt leave Bayern for us.
TV wont play as a full back and i am not sure 442 should be the standard formation... Thats a disaster of a CB pairing. Not sold on M'Villa yet - seems a bit one dimensional to me - passes sideways a lot.
Disaster? No. If they can have a run of games together then they can finally form a partnership. Has the makings of a great partnership. M'Villa is a DM in the true sense. Has a great football brain.
Just think both of them have consistently proven they are liable to basic errors, and have failed to learn from those mistakes. I dont think either reads the game that well - not like an Adams for example. The amount of times i have seen both pulled out of position and not being in sync with their partnered CB is too often for me to believe they can improve. Said before I would like to see TV in a DM role (and man marking the opposing ccreative 'number 10' in big games). he has the ability to do that and get forward when the opportunity arises. You might be right about M'Villa, just not totally convinced we'd get more than another Arteta - good, and tidy, but not dominant.
Anyone care to try RvP in a secondary role as he and others have suggested? Just a thought pals Better get back to work.....
What basic errors has Kos made this season? He was still our best player in Milan before going off. He has been brilliant at the back. TV after playing at LB for a while had a poor return at CB. With a run of games him and Kos can form a brilliant pairing. Do not see the point of spending big money when we have three CB's such as TV,Kos and Mert. If you do not defend as team then even the best CB's can be made to look poor. The whole midfield went missing at Milan. Our defence was exposed to so many counter attacks. A class DM breaks that up. As shown by someone like Sandro at Spurs. When they played Milan he was a beast in midfield and never let his defence get exposed.
Kos has made several, but to give him credit he has been quick enough to recover on most occasions. The reason he has to recover with his pace so often is because positionally he is weak. Watch a few replays of his starting position when defending - especially how he always seems to be too far away and either behind or in front of his defensive partner. TV was poor at FB and was poor again on his return to CB, making the same errors he always does - rushing into tackles he cant win. I think both have great attributes, but they are not the complete CB's we need in my view - we need more intelligent defenders. There is a reason why its so easy for teams to play quick one twos straight through our defence, the forward runners are invariably played onside and not marked closely enough to hinder their runs. Ultimately its down to poor coaching, but I wonder whether TV and Kos can adapt now having been so poorly coached for so long.
Both are still young for CB's. Not at their peaks. Then you have the fact they have simply not had the chance to play together for any run of games. So they need the understanding that you get when you play week in week out. TV was his normal self when he first returned from injury and Kos was at RB. He was solid,strong and everything TV brings. Also he speeds up our attacking play with his passing. But after more injuries he had to go to full back. If you have a class DM with TV and Kos as the CB's then that's a good trio. With problems in other areas, buying a new and expensive CB should not be high on the list when you have TV,Kos and Mert. Maybe you can bring in someone like Jan Vertonghen who can play a few roles (FB,CB or DM) and then see if he develops as a CB.
