I think that you'll find that he is only (<whistle>) worth $7 billion.

Joe Lewis has always favoured reinvesting over substantial profits. That is why the club's assets are always rising, we continued to give our DoFs and managers sizable transfer pots.

He's certainly not a perfect owner and some of his dealings have certainly shown he's out to make money not win philanthropist of the year but he has supported the club when needed and has been better than 90% of the other owners in the PL.

A new owner would be an unknown, we do not know anything about their intentions. That's a worry to me.

For once I agree with bumhole of the whiny, they are both successful, popular, not guilty of any crimes, honest, ethical and philanthropic <ok>

PS - I see that your petition still has just the 2 signatures, it would appear that Jayram is more popular than you and your moderate chummy.

In my less than eloquent way i shall say i don't trust the bloody Yanks...they never buy a club out of passion or drive but as a side business to fund their real passion and that is usually a baseball/basketball team.....on the surface we might see money being pumped in..but they do take millions out of the club for other interests but we never learn about this until someone leaves the club and reveals all...ooohh i don't like the sound of this.......and call me a pessimist but even if DL stays it doesn't mean much because if the yanks want a puppet..they will have a puppet.

Being accused of something doesn't make you guilty of it. <doh>

Oh - I intended to write moderate because that is exactly what he is.

    This

Levy is an astute businessman and he also knows football and how to run a football club. With Levy at the helm and either already having a relationship with AEG, or via Joe Lewis, there is a very good chance that AEG will listen to Levy.

I think it would be very astute of you to not trust this one, especially if you were a Michael Jackson fan :p

Oh I totally agree with you, trust is earned and as a Spurs fan, I know what its like to be a pessimist :p
But I don't think we should be as concerned about the US takeover of our club as much as the other three clubs should have been. Our chairman has worked too hard for this club to let it dismantle. To be honest, we will know exactly what AEG are like if they try to undermine Levy. Apart from the sacking Jol scandal, Levy has handled himself very well as Spurs chairman and has always worked for the best interests of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club!

Ah - "blame the individual for the company's 'alleged' wrongdoing" comment - so sad, so very, very sad.

I'm sure that there aren't any gay Spurs fans, but if there were, they would not welcome his money either.

So far we have gays, honest tax payers and Michael Jackson fans who should oppose this septic in his alleged bid to take over THFC. This list could get quite long lol

I think that the media are overstating this.
Levy and ENIC will probably give up a slice of the club for enough investment to make the new stadium commercially viable without compromising our squad budget.

Well as bumhole of the whiny is so obsessed with all things THFC we can, no doubt, expect it to continue adding to its list of comments.

Feb 15th 2011 - AC Milan lose to Spurs at the San Siro in the CL.
Feb 15th 2012 - AC Milan thrash and embarrass the wooden spooners.

Not sure if it was Ensil or one of his other alter egos that posted this, but at least KK was staying on topic - in the main :)

With any new owner, especially an American one, it'll all be about money, that's for sure. They won't be afraid to spend money, but they'll expect a return on investment. If they don't get it - heads will roll. As I think Kenny boy might find out soon!
Remember, with the septics - it's all about bucks, the rest is conversation!

Well said! That's exactly how it is. The Yanks are all about image and success, and they are not afraid to invest in either.

Our view of Yank owners has been tainted purely by the antics of the Glaziers, and the fact that they pulled a fast-one by buying United with its own money. I doubt that a buyer could even do that today, nor that the FA would permit it, given the very grave difficulties that United now find themselves in (regardless of what United's fans will tell us, otherwise).

If one takes the Glaziers out of the picture, then there is absolutely no reason to suspect that our new owner will be any worse than the owner of any other large club, and every reason to hope that, finally, we will no longer be hampered by our wage-structure.

Are they any better? Queen kenny went there as somebody to steady the ship and he is still there. Anybody else would be in AVB territory right now. Remind me who, if not actually giving him the job, certainly rubber-stamped the deal.
