Suarez admitted to using a word that is considered racist in this country. His defence that "I didn't realise it was racist and it's OK where I come from" doesn't stand up for me as he's been in Europe for a number of years. That's just my opinion though. Others have a different opinion and have stated it "rationally".
Yes, the fact is he used a word that is considered racist in this country (by most people). He admitted to that fact.
What has 'being in Europe for a number of years' go to do with anything? Yes, he played in Amsterdam so does that make him an expert in English culture?
So no evidence or facts of the guilt then, as defined by the panel. And he's been in Europe for about 6 years, but only in race-guilt England for less than one at that point - or even less when you consider how much time he's been on international duty. And of course, you see premiership footballers mingling down the shops, absorbing our culture (do you bollocks!) Footballers are pretty well insulated from the societies where they reside. They don't, in general, have a huge amount of interaction, as their wealth takes them out of circulation. Your bollocks dismissal of his defence comes from being within society. You cannot comprehend being so removed from society that you would not know what is acceptable. Yet every day we moan on about politicians being out of touch with society. And they earn much less that an Premiership footballer. So dismissing his defence as 'not standing up' doesn't stand up as 'rational'. You still have no facts to present, do you?
It certainly is, given your "I have facts for why he's guilty" "Cos they said he waas" no, that was their OPINION, not a fact.
Yes, the fact is he used a word that is considered racist in this country (by most people). He admitted to that fact.
And the fact that it is NOT racist in Spanish is irrelevant, eh? Cultural Imperialist, are you? Are we to see Evra prosecuted for his outburst on YouTube then? He used a far more offensive term...
Suarez admitted to using a word that is considered racist in this country. no. it's a word considered racist in the english language. it is not a racist word in the spanish language. what language was suarez using? spanish. why? because evra started the conversation in spanish. therefore the response was NOT racist, and evra KNEW it was not racist. you cannot take the word out of context just to suit yourself. or is a spanish speaking person not allowed to speak spanish in this country?
Ignorance of our culture- whether negligent or not- does not make him racist, and this is the "fact" you keep quoting. I think you need to brush up on logical thinking a little.
Wrong, as the lingusitics experts employed by the panel stated. I'll help you out here, as you really don't appear to have read the report. So please review and digest before you reply...
It can be perceived as racist in Spanish. Hence his defence wasn't based on any facts. Si senor. no one famous, you've been through all this thread? yet you miss, or deliberately ignore this: one phrase, freely admitted to the usage of once, by suarez, with NO RACIST CONNOTATIONS, as confirmed by linguistic experts that actually speak SPANISH, and moreover, the rioplatenese dialect that suarez would have used. or you think you know more about the spanish language suarez uses than linguistic experts that have spoken the language their entire lives? we're all still eagerly awaiting your finding and posting actual facts.......
