I am really happy with this news. It was one of the worst shirts ever designed for an England football shirt. The shirt looked like a cross between some American Baseball shirt and American football NFL shirt, and it certainly looked awful. Sorry for the kids and families who have to spend more money to buy yet another new kit, but they should be happy that they don't have to wear an American-sport influenced shirt that didn't belong in English football.
This is an absolute farce!!! JD Sports are selling the adult kit for £43 and a junior shirt for £35 now consider you do not pay VAT on childrens clothing (you do on adults) so take 20% off of the adults shirt and it comes to £34.40 HOW THE **** DOES IT COST LESS TO MAKE A KIDS SHIRT THEN AN ADULTS ONE???? I bet you could make 2 junior shirts out of an extra large adult shirt. This is nothing more then a get rich quick scheme from the FA. I think we should boycott the kit to make a point. ****ing leeches
The last thing I would want to do is give the FA some of my money, I think I will retort and shop lift instead.
On a serious note, it is going to annoy a lot of fans who want to stay up to date with the kits. Personally, I've never really liked many of the England kits before anyway.
Regardless of it being England and your varying opinions on England National team (fair enough) it really is not right that their kit be changed so frequently. the FA hold clubs to keep their shirts for at least 2 years, imagine if we just swapped our kit after 8 games? Can bet your bottom dollar the FA would sanction us. Once again this comes down to FA hypocrisy, but hey, nothing new on that front.
anyone who buys and england kit is a fool.... they ALWAYS flop in tournaments, have no manager and no stars like other teams have... functional at best and will be disorganised and run by chelsea boy this tournamanet again.... first round exit? who'd buy a kit for that!
Why should that stop you being a fan though? You'd have to be pretty fickle to drop your support because your country doesn't win anything and is disorganised! But I understand It's hard to dissociate England from the FA (for all intensive purposes their owner) but if I didn't support teams because of their owners I would have given up with Liverpool under H&G.
I had a strip for 2006 - that one was okay I suppose. I prefer the away strip, as its red, but generally I just wear my Liverpool strip for England games...
My thoughts are - what the **** are you doing spunking £70 quid for your kids on a strip most usually seen on out-of-shape drunks getting arrested outside of various bars during Euros or World Cup events... Go to a car boot sale just after said events have ended and hoover up the discarded strips (probably still damp with tears of bitter disappointment) for less than £1 each...
i can watch england, hope they win and still see the flaws just as i can beg lfc to win each game and see clealry the flaws.... simple enough... imo terry and lamaprd will try to ru nthe show at the euros, there'll be infighting and we could implode... the fa need t hire on redknapp or whomever SOON.
Yea ofcourse, fair enough. But I know plenty of people who refuse to support England even though they have done in the past and are still relatively patriotic. Seems bizarre to turn your back like that and would be unheard of in club footie.
Back on topic, but it does seem to be outrageous to change a strip after just 8 games - in terms of England games, that is one season. If a club changed its home strip after one season, there would be ructions about it and the club would be lambasted for blatant profiteering - I remember there being enough upset over the Ecru strip we had years ago. It was meant to be out first change strip for two years, but a complaint from Southampton about it being "too similar to their home strip" (WTF, there were no stripes on it FFS!) meant is was relegated to second change strip, with general moaning from parents who'd paid for it at full price. It was dropped altogether the following year.
Depends who the manager is. If its Redknapp or Hiddink then I think they will be put into place. Redknapp is Lampards uncle. As for not buying a kit because your scared of loosing, look at all the fans of the African and Asian teams who are never expecting to win. They still show up in uniform, support there team and have a great team. I feel every kit should get at least 1 tournament each to. Otherwise, whats the point.
Pfft, bought a shirt back in 2006 but not since then, they change it so often, it just needs to be white, thats it.
I actually really loved the plain white kits. I would have loved for that to stay forever, but the players associated it with failure.
