John Francome was talking about Border Incident on C4. Does anyone remember him?..I think i was about 10 when he made his comeback at Haydock on a Wednesday against Silver Buck and Night Nurse in the old Edward Hanmer chase. Not a bad little race that turned out to be.BI,like so many never regained his former ability when he won the Embassy series final.
I'm still happier to have Peddlers Cross at 12/1 rather than SS at 6/4. That's all i'm saying about it.
If anyone is backing against Long Run today is it because they think whatever they're backing can beat him or because there's a decent chance Long Run may not get round?
Surely no need though Nass ? go for the Arkle then the next 3 or 4 Champion Chases Quel it really annoys me when people like Fat Al say he needs to stay on his feet - he has never fallen in any of his 20 career starts. Hope I haven't cursed him
It is as things stand, but if SSs connections decide on going for the CC, then nothing including Sizing Europe is going to get him out of 3rd gear. I hope people are starting to finally realise now that SS is the best 2 miler we have seen probably since Flyingbolt. Even Geraghty reckons he's better than Moscow Flyer. If he goes for The Arkle then Evens is far to big, he's already demolished Peddlers Cross, and he's supposed to be the standard setter, other than SS
Be lovely to see young Sam win the next on Long Run. Bit of a rags to riches story for the young man and a really romantic episode. He's had a tough time in the past and overcome multiple hardships to get where he is today. GL Sam..we love you..
There's almost the feeling of inevitability that Long Run will lose in the markets - I don't see it personally
He is very clever - its clear he isn't the best jumper in the world but he gets to the other side 21 starts now and has never been on his arse
