"Equally, they've got to have cognisance of the fact that we're talking about a huge institution, part of the fabric of the Scottish nation, as well as Scottish football, and everybody realises that. "The most die-hard Celtic supporter understands that Celtic can't prosper unless Rangers are there. "The rest of the clubs understand that as well. Therefore you have to have cognisance of these things when you're pursuing public policy. "We've certainly been arguing to HMRC on one hand, and indeed to Rangers, to for goodness sake get a settlement, get a settlement and a structure over time whereby Rangers can continue because Rangers must continue for the future of Scottish football and for the fabric of the country."
Medro, I can't access this in work but click the top link of the following google search: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...s_upl=4657l9172l0l9297l22l11l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0 In erudite tones, it lays out while Scotland will be better of financially, in football terms, politically and socially without your racid "instityooshun". Of course, you could just quote a fat ****'s rhetorical attempt at not losing the bigot vote instead
"Celtic and Scottish football could live without Rangers but, boy, it would be as dull as dishwater." Most people thought this had been the case for many years.
Kyle says: February 15, 2012 at 4:57 pm "Can't help but think that the gloating Celtic fans have rather missed the main point of this article."
Rangers (Administration) are finished That's just the way it is Scottish football can go **** itself but I actually think more people will go to games now, seeing as there will be more chances to win things and no more bigotry All rangers bring are 2 loads of drunk fans and a begging bowl of tv cash It's not like we would lose Tennents as a sponsor.....were doing great with **** all as it is Celtic can make more money showing their own games than they'd ever get off sky And to be honest... If I'm wrong.... I don't ****ing care Who's the ****ing people
...and if you read the comments further down, you'll see that it was the same spammer talking ****e. The article makes no bones about being Anti-Old Firm rather than Anti-Rangers. Some of us aren't puffed up with our own superiority complex (we arra peepul) to think that the very fabric of Scottish life would die without our football team. Only a subsection of idiots from a horde of chimps believe that
Football teams are a business, if that business fails then tough ****..... Option 1....Some rich sugar daddy comes and pays off all the debts....Option 2.... They go bust..... Unlucky..
Desperate stuff Medro if you are clinging onto the words of Alex Salmond! No they don't - they will cut their cloth accordingly! It will mean downsizing but hey, **** it - punt a few players, wipe the debt, bring through more youth players - good for Scotland (national team)... and no huns! It's all good!
It's all they've got left. Barely a day goes by without some bad news emanating out of Ibrox so they cling to the "Celtic need Rangers" bollocks for all it's worth. What they think they gain from spouting this pish is anyone's guess. Do they think it will in some way alter the outcome of their club's immediate future? Rangers are ****ed now and will be for a number of seasons. Repeating this cliched mantra will not change this fact.
The SPL doesn't 'need' Rangers. It will continue without us, at least initially, on reduced revenue to all the clubs in the league. What happens after that I don't know. The revenue will either recover or it won't. However saying the demise of Rangers has no material effect on SPL clubs is patent nonsense.
