But surely some of that debt will be paid via the 20 pence in the £ won't it? From the last lost of proceeds I mean?
Greensaint - please read my post above. Ignore the numpties on the snooze website - I believe, as a pompey fan, the only way to come out of any of this in a positive manner would have been to implement plan B. I am assahamed that our club can be used in this way, by "owners" who have no interest. The next to interesting talking points are going to be after the administrator is announced (please god no, not AA) and what the football league have to say for themselves in regards to the continuous supply of owners that they approved for take over (of which some didnt even exist!)
Been said in court that that has been downgraded to 10 p in the pound...HMRC said that's news to them.
The FL we say nothing other than issue a vague non-committal statement about procedures being followed. It's a disgrace that a club could ever have fallen into the hands of not one but two (alleged) money-launderers and have been run by a patsy on behalf of one who breached every rule of Directorship going.
Not nesseserily. This is still a bit of a grey area- we are in admin this time because of the failure to pay HMRC, bills, players nd local suppliers etc. The ground is still owed by BC (whether this is part of the apparent £17m or not is debateable) and the surrounding land is still owed by SG - both of which I believe are secured creditors still. We could pay everything off - but still not own the ground or surrounding area. I came to the realisation that plan B, yes inconveinent, would have been the best route to having a club that us, the fans, the fans who have had NO SAY in any of this episode, a chance once again to feel some pride in the club we all love. A sad state of affairs and I really cannot see where we can go from here.
I understand there has been an objection to the appointment of AA, as a conflict of interest because he is the administrator for the parent company. As per Solent news
AA should not be the administrator...now Portpin are saying they'll put 0.5 m into Pompey only if AA is the administrator. If he's unbiased (as he should be) why do they care....strong smell around this but bet judge folds again.
Could be up to 20 points deduction, as they have been in admin two years running. I think their debt will still be around 40mil Chanrai (17m) Aussie teams (2m) Hulsklepp(spelling) and other deals (3m) West Brom,Bristol City, Wolves and the FL are owed money. Then you have the unsecured and the cva to be rewritten.
Surely even a high court judge can see something wrong here....get a neutral administrator in there so he can see what's going on.
Unfortunately there is a fine line between the legal way of doing things and the moral way of doing things. Legally AA can be administrator, morally he shouldnt and someone neutral should go in to give us, the fans, the transparancy as to where the owners have gone so wrong - or atleast see where the money has all gone. I still cannot believe we received £22m for Diarra - where did that money go? Something definitely is not right with the FP books and this need to be investigated on a police level in my honest opinion!
Sad to hear Pompey fans about you going into administration as a Swindon Fan i hope you get the right owner this time as you seem to have a few dodgy owners recently and hope your club get back being to what they should be. Good Luck all Pompey Fans and Portsmouth FC.
Hi everyone - Cardiff City fan here. Just popped in to say good luck to all at Portsmouth FC and their fans. Big business is killing something that is part of our heritage & culture. Shame on them all.
PFC need to get out from under the weight of previous owners...like something you can't wipe off your shoe. They need an independent review of what's going on, not Portpin/CSI policing themselves.
THIS ^ This is all Pompey fans want - we want to know how and why our club has been used and abused by money grabbing parasites. Say NO to Admin Andy!
It may sound callous, but it's hard to have too much sympathy for "many small people" who advanced Pompey credit whilst they were still subject to a CVA. It is not surprising that this has happened, given the vultures who continue to pick at Pompey (such as the delightful Mr Chainrai).
I've just noticed someone comment on the Portsmouth News site that they should appoint the same administrator who took over at Saints. I think it was Mark Fry from Begbie Traynor. Afterall, he raised our profile siginificantly in order to bring Markus Liebherr and Nicola Cortese to the club for us. Job done
I would be game for this - it will take longer, but we might finally find out how and why our club has been used to launder the money of numerous proven criminals! Note there is still no word from the football league - they know that docking us points would have an adverse effect again upon their supposed fit and proper test! (For the record, we deserve a 10 point penalty)
