Just to answer the question - what he was showing was that, although Saints had gone into administration, which almost certainly meant a change of ownership [which meant throwing out Lowe & Co] the support for the club was there, ready and waiting. I can understand that. I always thought that attendances were artificially low, more as a protest against Lowe and Co, rather than at the Club itself. Some would argue that though, and there was plenty of it, at the time. I certainly kept away, because the club I had supported was not the club that was playing week in, week out. When we went into administration, I attended the next game I could. It was a message sent straight to Lowe to get out and stay out. I have never had anything against the man. I just didn't want him wielding power at Southampton FC.

Whatever MLG makes more to that is upto him. I make nothing more than I have written.

If you stuck 14,000 of the hardcore Saints fans (or any other club for that matter) in the corregated tin shack that is Fratton Park I am sure they would be called the "loudest" <ok>

#pompey tell @solentsport that they have no funds to pay for a scan that captain Liam Lawrence needs on an injury

    tragic, but still quite funny

You would hear the cries of 'get us out of here' as far away as the coast of France.

Wasn't there an article on the front of the Guardian in the Strachan days, that we were the most 'tuneful' fans or some such?

Yes, someone went round testing the singing of football fans for a project and Saints came out as the most in tune. No comment.

P.s. Bolton were apparently tone deaf.

I fail to see why we carp on about the lack of Skates at games. If you are to be realistic surely it would make much more sense to revaluate fratton Park attandances against our old ground instead? The 'Dell' and FP were much more similar in that both were antiquated.

Pompey fans would with a newer ground probably do like at all other new grounds increase crowd numbers.

The utter absurdity of football is quite clear though isn't it. Carlos Tevez's total fines etc has cost him, due to a vaguely irrelevant spat, £9.3m

Which basically is about the amount that would pull Pompey an awfully long way towards being out of the brown stuff.

    I do despair sometimes.

I can't believe that we came across as the most in tune, with the rubbish accoustics in the Kingsland it is very difficult to sound on song.

When is their pack the park event?

I thought it was the other night, but they got the smallest gate of the year, 32 less than they got for Watford.

Can someone let me know when it is, cheers

The Pompey fans canvassed on TV a few days ago about administration were the rummest looking bunch I had ever seen. I wondered if they had selected the ugly ones deliberately or if that was a random selection of their fans. A couple of years back I found myself on a bus going to Portsmouth after a train had been cancelled and these strange hulks climbed on board. I had no idea that Pompey were playing at home so I was unbiased when I said to my brother, 'God, look at that lot.'
I guess it was my sheer loveliness that made me gravitate to Southampton rather than Portsmouth<laugh>

Well it is at least official now that Pompey are in admin......so for the moment they will be OK. Hell though they do know how to spend money, Despite being in debt.....they owe just about to everyone again 17 million to Chanrie 2 or 3million for players plus 2 million to HMRC and about 2 million to small creditors. Not to mention the wage bill for last month and another due in a few days. Strewth thats bloody near £25 million again. If Pompey get away with just 10 points deduction I should think they had better take that and run..........

Ted - that doesnt even include the money we will still owe BC and SG for Fratton park and the surrounding land! Plan B was the only way to rid our club of these parasites.

A new owner, to get everything back on track is going to need atleast £50m to start with! Fat chance.

Watch AA get appointed administrator - not find a buyer - sell all players in the summer - not leave admin - minus 17 points to start next season possibly in league 1 and watch BC leave as soon as he has all his money back leaving the club dying at the side of the road.

Plan B was on the only way to avoid the above inevitablity.

Already Pompey fans gloating on the News site that their debts will be written off and a new owner in place by the end of the season. No apparent concern for the many small people owed money (again). Then they wonder why there's little sympathy during sh1t hitting fan episodes!
